Worst thing possible

I signed a contract with my venue 5 months ago... And two days ago I receive this. We've literally bought everything that specifically fits that facility. Chair covers, table cloths, curtains, EVERYTHING!

Oh, I would've been pissed off. It's there mistake, let them accommodate you. Did you get insurance? If so, use that money to help, just in case, you have to go somewhere else. Also, see if they can put a tent up. You signed a contract, stick it to them, make them accommodate you for everything

I'd be curious to see what the venue offers off the bat before you ask for anything specifically... they may offer you more than you're expecting. It's better to know what they're thinking, and you can negotiate from there.

How many guests do you have coming? Does your church have a hall or something you can use?

I'm so sorry this is happening! They better make something work, or I would lawyer up. Their mistake, definitely not yours!

That's true. I'm sure they can supply the power and ability to keep food warm in a tent. People can do that anywhere these days.

@celiaMilton that's probably the best advice so far. I'll talk to them about a tent. If my caterer can use what you were talking about and we can get electric for comfortable weather (it's April. It could be super hot or cold) I would be fine with that.
