What do you think about my centerpiece idea?

Lindy, on March 3, 2011 at 2:51 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

I have bought a antler candle holder(pic). Some camouflage mixture of the confetti stones, and plan on purchasing either round or square mirrors.

So, do you think my idea will work. Do I need to add or subtract anything? Are the candleholders big enough? Thanks Ladies....

It's hard to tell how big the candle holder is in the picture. Is that a votive candle inside? If it is a votive then the candle holder looks a little small to me. Depending on how big your tables are, the center pieces might get kinda 'lost' on the tables...

I agree, they look a little small… but very cool looking.

If you use a mirror you could put a couple of smaller votive holders around it This is not the best example but something like this...

Maybe to bulk up the centerpieces you could place the candle holder you bought along with a few smaller votives on a 'slice' of tree trunk. That would make them more substantial.

Yes, I agree. I thought they may be too small. I like the tree slice. Thanks Ladies!

BTW - it is a votive candle holder.

Konichiwa-I love those and I agree that maybe she needs to spruce it up some.

I think they are a neat looking candle holder and they go great with your theme! It's a great start!

Ok, I REALLY LOVE the tree slices. (You ladies probably think I am the wierdest person ever)

However, should I find some small tea light heart shaped candles to put around the tree slice with my votive holder to dress it up?

Or, should I purchase the vases in the picture below to use with the tree slice. (I would really like to use what I have already purchased, but...) If I purchase the vases I would probably fill them with the jewels with a candle stick. The second pic below is what I am shooting for.

Obviously, I think I will be doing away with the mirrors.

Thanks for your help - I am really lost in this decor thing! Smiley smile

Would you be using both the antler votive holder AND the antler vase? Or are you thinking of replacing the antler votive holders with the vases?

I think it would be nice to have at least 3 things of varying heights on your tree slices You could use your votive holder, a taller pillar candle and a smaller votive candle (like the small glass votives that Victoria posted in her picture) along with your confetti stones on top of the tree slice. Something like that would work...

I would like to use the antler votive holders since I already bought them. If I were to use the vases, I would do away with the votive holder.

I too think you should use both the vase and the votive holder but if you dont want to spend the extra money you could use the votive holder and add some tealights around... The slice of wood is really cute!

I love the antler votive holders. I also love them being on a tree slice. Have you considered clear glass votive holders with a candle and some coffee beans or another brown item inside it.

Keep what you have and then supplement it with some additional candles. Michael's sells the small glass votive holders in packs of 1 dozen for like $8. You can get a coupon and get them for 40-50% off (that's what I did!) to supplement the Antler votive holders. I would also look into Ivory or White pillar candles that are about 6-8 inches tall to put on there also. They may have something that will work at the 99 cent store.
