Some threads really puzzle me

Haha, yeah, that's a great example of why avatars are important. Sometimes I think I should change my username since there are so many Amys on here (I think I've counted at least five or six), but I know I can at least be recognized by my avatar. Also, thanks Chelsea!

Ha! Definitely not picking any fights. Just pointing out that just because someone doesn't have an avatar or only pops on to ask one question doesn't make them any less important than someone who posts numerous times a day for years. I would bet that that one question is as important to the person posting as every question each of you posts is important to you. I just don't see the big deal. But to each her own. One thing I've learned from the various sites is that there are lots of really young gals getting married who don't have a lot of life experience. Thus, they are going to have a lot of questions that may seem easy peasy to others of us. I just think that they deserve as much attention and response as someone who has been around a while or who as been there done that. My calling out the cattiness had more to do with the tone of the thread in the first page or so. And I stand by my comments. Especially about the grammar and punctuation! Makes me twitch. :-)

I will say that my avatar seems to have had the desired effect of keeping anyone from confusing me with anyone else. Or maybe that's just my "unusual" personality. LOL

@Amy....I do have to agree about grammar =) definitely/defiantly/defanitly/definatly. That one drives me crazy along with their, they're and there. =) I do believe the "one and done" is mostly directed at the "drama posts" that some post and then they run, not really the ones that ask a question and disappear as we all know that IRL we are all busy and the added wedding planning just adds more to our plates!

Does WW offer an avi selection? Lots of boards do so you can pick one and not have to upload. Aside from the Op point I think that would help get rid of more rings. I see many posts stating they cant do it from a phone, if the option is there.. and lets face it probably more than half use a phone here. lol

OMG! Am I the only one noticing that since we had all that spam, there's been an increase of "newbies"? That ask half assed questions (which really dont provide any info we could use to help answer), or post one thread & you dont see again, or dont change their avatars after we ask them to....

Either there's alot of true newbies that want us to read their minds & play god since we obviously know where they live & what they're looking for. Or something fishy's going on.... Is it just me thinking this?

Maybe it's cuz I'm sick & in a bad mood....

I have noticed that MB, you're not alone. I've been on a kick of hunting through the "ring" posts since Saturday and finding the ones that seem legit. When I do, I help if I can, request more info if needed and add something like "By the way, a tiny favor to ask. Would you mind changing your avatar to something we can recognize as you? We like to get to know the new girls around here so we can help better, and that's the best way.". And so far, I believe every one of them have uploaded a pic.

Oh that's good. I think maybe I just havent seen this many newbies on a daily basis.

I've been trying to keep in mind that this time of year, there tend to be a lot of new brides hitting the forum. Holiday proposals and what not. I've seen more of the suspicious ring posts today, though. Clicked on two in a row that had iffy links on them, and I ignored those.
