RSVPs and Gifts Rolling In!

Loganne, on August 8, 2017 at 10:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

A little over 2 months to go and the RSVPs are coming and so are gifts! I was not ready for that. Should I be sending "thank you" cards as they come or wait until after the wedding?

We're waiting until after the wedding that way they're all sent out at once. Keep a catalog of what people got you.

Ah me too and date twins! I've been checking my registries, I have bridal shower 1 of 3 this Saturday. I am now just checking the numbers but am trying not to look at what was bought.

Thank you cards should be sent asap as the gift arrives. Besides being generally courteous, it lets the giver know that the gift arrived safely. How do you think they would feel waiting months to receive a thank-you note?

A fringe benefit to you is one less thank-you note to do after the wedding.

I would also recommend sending shortly after receiving, as PPs have mentioned; you won't forget, less to write later, and the giver will know you received and appreciate the gift. Saves you from being asked at your wedding, "Did you get the gift I sent you two months ago?".

I will wait until after and if they RSVP so early I will follow up a week before. We had 115 RSVP. End up with 85 at the church and like 70 at the reception. Am still upset about how much money these people make us lost..

Send them as you get the gifts! Its not only proper ettiquette, but also lets the guests know the gifts arrived.
