Really? Since When???

Future MRS AAA, on October 9, 2012 at 10:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

So i asked FH little cousin to be our flower girl and i was explaining to her mother the kind of dress i would like her to wear, which is a cute white dress for a flower girl. Well the mother proceeded to let me know that flower girls dont wear WHITE!! Really, when did i miss that memo??? Apperently, it will take the attention off me!!! Really?? she basically said that she is suppose to wear our wedding theme color, which is black and white...however there is no way i would want her in a black dress, so that leaves only one option. how do i handle this situation??

All the flower girls I know wear white. Ours did, so did friend's of ours who got married last year and others who got married a month ago.

In the 2-out-of-3 weddings I was a flower girl I didn't wear white. One i wore a navy blue dress with flower pattern on it, the second I wore a dress that was pink with another flower pattern on it. And the last one I wore an ivory lace dress. I never been to a wedding where the FG wore all white if she did it had a color accent on it.

My FG will polly be wearing my colors, but I also want to get a dress she can wear again. I don't really like making the parents pay over 50 dollars for a dress she will only wear a couple of hours.

BUT it is your day and if you want her in white she will be in white!

I don't think there is right color or wrong color . I simply think it's what you want her to wear in your wedding.

Our flower girls are wearing a apple green color which is one of the colors in our wedding.

@ Soon2beMrs K...I was not necesarry asking for a white dress as my dress itself is ivory, so i was hoping for something ivory. and i dont mind if it has an accent color, but i dont want a different solid color as that will totally throw of d wedding party itself.

I don't feel like it's going to take the attention off of you. Wow, she's a bit off.

What? If you look online there are tons of white dresses for FG. Heck even the royals in England do it :p

My logic is YOUR wedding, YOUR choice, YOUR way.

Little girls look adorable in white/ivory dresses. Hate to say it kids steal the show no matter what color dress they have on.

My FG is wearing yellow and I found it at goodwill for 4 dollars!!!!!! It was a very lucky find though... But I agree have her wear whatever you want. I love when people offer their opinions when you are not asking for them.

Personally I think FG's take the attention from the bride either way (let's be honest- they're all stinking cute) so it's your wedding- whatever color you want her to wear!

She is misinformed. White or ivory with or without colored accents is the "norm."

I always thought white was the traditional color for flower girls. In fact, I have seen some bridal lines (Alfred Angelo, for example) that makes flower girl dresses that correspond to a particular bridal gown.

That said, I am putting my flower girls in light pink.

When I was a flower girl I wore all right. Granted that was like a million years ago. But all my little girls wore white, the train bearers, guest book/program attendants and the flower girls.

And they were all super cute.

You can have her wear whatever color YOU want Smiley winking

Every wedding I've been too, the FG wears white! The mom is confusing the notion that GUESTS are not supposed to wear white!

My FG wore white, I have never been to a wedding where the FG hasn't been in white. Our wedding the fg matched me and the ring bearer matched the groom
