I was just thinking how would the guest get the bags ? I know I wouldn't have time to pass them out !

Tiffany - you could drop them off at the hotel the night before (or earlier if they say okay) and request that they be placed in the booked rooms before the guests' arrival. Smiley smile

Oh ok thanks I didn't even think to do that. Would it too much if I put a Starbuck gift card in the bags ? It's one in the lobby of the hotel .

We would've loved to, but our guests were staying in multiple hotels and it would have been a logistical nightmare.

I would take out the medical stuff like the bandaids, pepto, etc and keep it fun like the snacks, postcard, itinerary.

We are not doing this. Pretty much all our guests are from out of town and the budget for this is non-existent.

I think it's a fabulous and cute idea!

We did them and they were a huge hit.

We also had maps, welcome note, itinerary. Then snacks, water, a box of hand made truffles with a thank you bar, starbucks frapps, mints with a key chain, advil, kleenex.

They were very inexpensive except for the truffles part. But that was our splurge item. Your guests will love you :-)

Check with your hotel about giving them out. Ours did that for no charge.

We are doing welcome bags as well. We got our "Welcome to the Wedding" bags for real cheap on oriental tradings website...and we also got our personalized water bottle labels that say our names and the date of the wedding on them. We found aquafina bottles fit them best. (also from oriental trading) We have three hotels people are staying at. We will have the hotel put the bags in the guests rooms.

    Other items we are including...

    Welcome letter

    Weekend Schedule

    Map

    Local Brochures

    Crackers

    Cookies

    Gum

    Beer

    Water Bottles

We had a DW in VT that had a biker theme. Out Welcome bags consisted of things one would put in a saddle bag of a motorcycle and things native to Vermont:

    Welcome Card

    Itinerary for the Weekend

Maps of good rides in the area

    Hand Sanitizer

    Hand Wipes

    Lip Balm

    Gold Bond Powder

    Gum and Mints

    Tylenol

    Personalized magnets

Snacks: Pbutter crackers, granola bars and personalized water

    Vermont hard candy

Small bottles of maple syrup with the venue's logo

    A personalized post card

Almost all of our guest are from OOt, same state, just different cities. So they do know the area so we will not be doing these. (Not planned for in the budget anyways, could change our minds!!) Love the idea!!

For Cate's wedding, we are doing a Welcome To Pennsylvania theme. We are filling them with all things native to the area:

    A Welcome Note and Itinerary

    Goldenberg Peanut Chews

    A Bag of Hershey Kisses

    Quaker Granola Bars

    Herrs Potato Chips

    Uts Pretzels

    TastyKake

Bazooka Bubble Gum or Peeps(Still deciding on that one)

    Personalized water

I still have to create the post card.

I couldn't put a cheese steak or a hoagie. They would have stunk up the hotel.

Actually, the majority of guests are from the area, and are taking rooms so they don't have to drink and drive. So, the bags will function as good hangover munchies.

I bought the bags at Oriental Trading. Because the bags are smaller than I anticipated, each guest will get one(as opposed to one per room for two people).

Mmmmmm, Garrett's popcorn. We got a big tin of that and had our DOC put it in fancy jars on our dessert table. Looked a little less pretty than the fancy cupcakes and pastries but it was a huge hit!

Love the local hometown treats in goodie bags!!!!

We are doing a Georgia Themed gift basket and will have them in their rooms at the hotel. We are going through this company called Got Grits. I saw them at a bridal show and fell in love.

@Carole, now the real question is, did you decide on Kandy Kakes or Butterscotch Krimpets? I'm a krimpet fan, but FH says kandy kakes all the way!
