My DIY Bridal Hanger...Honest Opinions....

Kimberly S ( formerly Kimberly L ), on April 7, 2012 at 12:14 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 35

Due to the "issue" I had with an Etsy Vendor and my hanger, I decided to take this project on myself. I know I am not a pro so the name isn't perfect . I added crystals to the hanger, not 100% sure on the flower so it isnt glued on there, right now It is just tied to the hanger part. What do you think? OH and the ends arent glued in right now, I have to drill the holes

Love the way your name turned out, nicely done. And I love the flower and bling.

I think it would look nice if you could get the wire going to the hanger edges straighter.

So far looks good, but I'd advise you to practice making the name another time or 2. The more you practice, the better it will look and the wires will look smoother.

The "pr" in your last name is hard to read but I don't know if it's worth it to you to go back and redo it. I guess keep in mind how it's going to be photographed (with your dress hanging on it) and think of it that way? Not just how it looks by itself. If that makes any sense. Plus you know your last name so your brain will automatically recognize all the letters in it when you see your photos.

Here's what I did in Paint. lol. Your wire version is better! I just tightened up the M and the P by moving in different directions with the continuous line.

But honestly?..........I think what you've done is pretty darn good. Great job!!!

I read a post on this a while back about how someone lined their pliers with fabric so it didn't scratch or pinch the metal and they said it was easier to shape and straighten things.

But I've never tried this, I'm sure you know all the tricks better than I do!

I like how loopy your name is. I LOVE how you did you "S"

Yes, the "r" could be pulled a little so it doesn't look pinched.

Good job Kimberly, I made mine too, just from experience, you may need to cut the ends a little more when you glue them in because the glue takes up space.

This is FH and a friend who has been helping me.

I would practice the letters a few more times to clean them up a bit. I love the flower and the bling - they look fabulous!!

When I first did mine I practiced like 3-4 times and with Mrs L's, I practiced twice so I could get the spacing right for her name.

I like it! This is one DIY that I'm intimidated by. Yours came out great, and I can read it too.

Good for you to DIYing! I think it looks pretty great! I think the r in Mrs. Tom would be the way to go with those. I'm not sure about the flower. I think I'd need to see it with the dress.

I like it as a first attempt, but I would definitely do a few more practice runs at it to have a cleaner final project, especially if you have extra wire.

It is much better than what I would be able to do on my first try I'm sure though!
