Making my own bouquets

Brittanica, on August 20, 2012 at 11:08 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

Is there anyone who can assist with the making of their bouquets? Like where to buy the silk flowers? And I want corsages for the bm's and bouitneers for the grooms DIY as well. And don't forget my centerpieces...,

FH Grandma is helping me put my flowers together. I got my flowers from Hobby Lobby and GardenRidge.

Linda R is fantastic at making bouquets with Real Touch flowers... perhaps search for her using the search bar on the right (under the topics) so you can PM her or see some of her work. It's really good!

And I hope you'll update your avatar to something unique! Doesn't have to be of you, any image works so we can remember you better. Here's how to do that: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/new-to-the-weddingwire-forums-please-read-before-you-post/b433c40c1a62b96a.html

Hobby Lobby has flowers called Real Touch and they look and FEEL real. I also bought boutonniere holders at Michaels. I wrapped the flower and the ivory stuff behind it with floral tape then hot glued it to the holder. And it makes it easier to pin on the lapel.

You still have plently of time to buy in batches so keep an eye out for sales and don't ever go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby without your coupons.

Hi Brittanica! I can help you. Do you have a Hobby Lobby or Michaels near you? If so, watch for when they put their silk stems on sale. With Hobby Lobby it is just about every other week. You can also get real touch roses there; they look real and have a great feel to them.

Do you want a hand-tied bouquet (easiest to do) or a bouquet in a bouquet holder? Have you decided on what flowers you want?

I am attaching a couple of pics here to give you an idea of what real touch roses look like and I also made the bouitineers for my wedding party so am attaching a pic of that too.

PM me with any questions you have and I will be glad to help!

Hello Brittanica. I also made my own bouquet, but used latex flowers. Have to say the real touch is lovely also. Success to you with whichever you use. It's exciting when you finish and just can't stop looking at it. Enjoy the process.

Does Michaels sell real touch flowers? I am in Minnesota, and sadly, there are no hobby lobbies, and can't find them anywhere except online.
