@Laura I like ecotools brushes. They're relatively cheap and they've held up well for me

@Rebecca, I like to sleep in as long as possible so I don't like my make up take to long. Maybe 5 minutes max!

But, I have some dark circles sometimes so i wouldn't mind trying some of the skin care Smiley smile

@ Sarah, that depends on the finish you want and your skin type and how much coverage you want. If you want full coverage and have normal skin I would recommend Estee Lauder's double wear. Its great stuff and looks flawless in photos.

@Laura, if you invest in good brushes you will have them for life. Sigma makes some beautiful brush sets. Target carries Sonia Kashuk's set and they are good too (indivudually...the sets have much lower quality) and there are some great ones. Lately I have been using my morphee ones like crazy.

Re eye bags: I've tried basically every product out there. Bags are what got me my VIB status on Sephora lol. The only thing I've seen make any different is the eye gels that Skyn makes, and even that difference is negligible.

Wow Jo. I'm just picturing you carrying around a bag of lipstick. I know I have at least that much, but I don't carry it with me.

Is there a difference in what the "hair" is made out of? If so, which is best? If animal hair is used, is there a line that sources it in a humane way?

Me. I discovered Kat Von D liquid lipstick and I am now obsessed. I think I have bought every color in a two week time span. Definitely check them out for a lasting red! I am on a burgundy lips kick right now

    Okay- brushes! YASSSSSSSSSSS

brushes- they will take your make up game from 0 to hero in no time.

1.) Real Techniques- you can get them at ULTA/TARGET and Walgreen (newly carried) or on line (amazon to)

these are amazing- they are a wonderful staple for your kit- I use several of these daily- like- A LOT. I love them.- not all of them- and as some of them are a kit- you gotta kind of roll with it- I can pull and post my favorites tonight. my go to are the powder and blush brush- i have a few others but I don't remember their names and I don't use them as they are labeled (also- just because some thing is labeled a thing doesn't mean you HAVE to use it for that- just saying)

2.) Coastal Scents- some I love- some are WAY to stiff- I have their flat top kabuki- girl- best 5$ ever spent- that thing is the fucking tits. Their pro- white blending fluffs- pretty fucking amazing for the price.

3.) Morphe- I have the M439- now my go to (its' a like a flat top kabuki- but not quiet fully flat)

their blending fluffs- also amazing (m433)

4.) Sigma- not a brand I personally owne- but they make several afforrdable dupes- totally worth it.

5.) MAC_ eh- they are okay- I have their stippling brush- I use it to blend my cream contour out- it's great for that but WAY to fucking small for foundation- that is the only MAC brush I own because I haven't seen the point of the price without a discount.

6.) I have a pointed blending fluff from Make Up Geek Cosmetics- I love this thing to death by the way.

7.) My highliter is studio/pro line ELF brush- it's perfect. I have 2 of their 1$ flat shortie shader brushes- these are perfect for packing on a color that doesn't blend- I use them to flatten out creams and then pack a similar color on top- perfect- cheap and you don't feel bad for beating them up.

8.) BH Cosmetics- totally knock off-s I still really like them- their little tube kits are pretty good- although I don't really use their face brushes- it's nice to have some fluffy brushes for various needs.

@Laura- yes- there are synthetic vs real hair- some companies are cruetly free (Make up Geek I know for sure is one on my above list)

yes- there is a difference in how they place product- some synthetics totally suck for blending eye make up- but are perfect for face make up- that's one of those trial and error things. I have found the short Coastal Scents blending stubbies are WAY to harsh for my eyes.

But plenty of companies are going cruelty free and really with practice you can make a lot of less then perfect brushes work anyway.

@kahlcara- that's just the stuff I have on me- I have a whole bowl at home full of them. LMAO

@origniallaura- I was there last night- they are really pimping the studded lipsticks- and I totally missed the kat von d lipstains- bummer- I was TOTALLY looking for them!!!

I used to be into makeup a lot and even took some courses. I also did makeup on a couple brides for their day. After I had my second child makeup had to take a back seat because shit is expensive...i still buy some here and there but not like before.

    It seriously adds up.

I'm supposed to be in a "no new makeup" budget b/c of my braces- I've done OKAY- only 50$ between december and ... um- december. so I made it exactly 0 months not spending money on make up. #fail

I layer two different foundations (actually one is a thick concealer and the other is a bb cream). I've been doing this for years and it's consistently perfect. A little bit matte, a little bit dewy. Not oily or greasy. I set with a translucent powder.

Dermablend is seriously a face-saver. Covers up EVERYTHING.

Dr. Jart layered on top creates a really nice finish. Also great on it's own when I don't feel like doing the full-face routine.

OliveBranch- mixing foundations is a great idea- I forget to mention it to people b/c I don't do it regularly... but yeah- it's perfect.

I know MannyMUA mixes Loreal with MUF and loves it with amazing results.

Also- side note- ELF has a dewy/glitter primer- it's more glitter than dewy- but man it's a hellofava primer.

    Also Primers

DO NOT SPEND BANK ON THIS IF YOU DON"T WANT.

There are TONS of options that are under 10$ that are chemically the exact same as basic high end primers

    Two of my go- tos

The anti chafing chel for your bikini line- it's made by monistat- same ingredients as high end (smashbox style) synthetic primer- I've gone through MANY tubes over the years

nivea post shave palm- more liquid then gel- still a good synthetic primers.

Also- the ELF pump luminous primer (lets face it- it's practically glitter for your face) is great- I love it- but- the gold glitter flecks- get everywhere- all over my hands- I have a designated brush- or I apply with fingers and baby wipe them off afterwards- I mix it with foundation - or apply in 2 steps- it's great- highly recommend it.

This isn't for makeup help but need some opinions/advice. I've had my nose pierced for a few years and I get really dry skin around the piercing and on the side of my nose. Any suggestions on how to get stop it. And yes, I've googled it and didn't get much help there.
