I am looking for a perfect lip stain myself. I want something make-out proof for the wedding!

JoRocka -- spot on about the monistat gel! I use that in the summertime; otherwise I don't usually need it, but definitely helps everything stay in place, and it's so inexpensive!

I wish I could wear MAC or MUF. Both dry my skin out beyond reason. I'm talking skin flaking off in sheets.

I've never tried ELF products; always thought they were cheap / bad quality? I'm missing something, right?

Ruth -- maybe try an eczema cream? Eucerin makes a gentle formula for babies. That's actually what I use for face moisturizer, being the only thing I've found that doesn't dry my face out or turn my cheeks red.

    Also, witch hazel.

That stuff is amazing- seriously- and at 8$ a tube- I got through it in about 3-5 months depending on how hard I'm gigging.

MAC face stuff isn't AMAZING_ but now I get 30% off- so win for me LOL- their eye shadows and lip products are way better.

ELF is totally hit or miss. They have some REALLY nice things- but then they have some really trash products. Kathleen Lights on Youtube has a few great "love em/leave em" type videos on ELF.

it's 100% crap shoot- their baked shadows/blushes/bronzers- some of them are REALLY good quality -like price point wise the comparison to higher end to the 3$ price tag is laughable- no its' not LITERALLY as good- but it's not the 200% mark up difference good.

I'm pretty open about drug store vs high end- I want what works and what is pretty and will stay on through shows (so high pigment- no streaking). if you're a make up "snob" (I don't say that judgingly) and only use high end stuff- you probably won't like it- but if you don't mind the range drug store to high end- you'll be pleasantly surprised with some of their products.

I have a serious makeup problem too, especially lipstick. I don't know how many I have, ESPECIALLY reds. And I've become much more of a makeup snob in recent years so I'm terrible and splurging at Sephora and MAC.

I'm trying to decide how to do my NYE makeup tonight. I see some amazing looks out there but even though I've been doing makeup for years I'm not that great at the dramatic looks, they usually look kind of sloppy when I try Smiley sad I'm great with liner and do dramatic liner all the time but not so great with eyeshadow, especially darker colors since you have to be really precise with them Smiley sad

JoRocka dose of colors and Anastasia Beverly Hills have the most amazing formula for liquid lips! I think you'd love kiss of fire from Dose. Love this thread! My FH would die if he knew how much I spend on makeup! Lol

YES - dose of color is TOTALLY on my list. I forgot about them.

I shall put it on the "want" list- includingkiss of fire. YAY I forget about them all the time.

whats the other one- Ofra cosmetics that's another one.- Havanna Nights by Kathleen lights is awesome- I really want it. Because WANT!

GERARD cosmetics makes some- but I hear they are over priced and not so good. The only people that rave about them are the ones who have discount codes- so I hear.

Olivebranch - ELF is definitely hit or miss like JoRocka said. I'm not a fan of their eyeliners, or at least I haven't found one yet that I liked. There are some blogs out there that also highlights which items are steals, and their website shows the top rated ones.

Some of my favorites are their high-definition powder ($6, comparable to the Mary Kay $15 one), prism eyeshadow palette (Naked knockoff but really good, $10), mineral infused mascara ($3, great considering the price and mascara is important to keep fresh), mineral infused primer ($6), and their $1 brushes. I don't use lip products so I can't speak to those.

ETA: there's usually free shipping if you spend a certain amount online, but they run a lot of sales online so I usually buy a lot at once online and stock up. If I just need one thing, they're sold at Target and I think now Walmart too. I've never seen ELF at a drugstore.

Hahahha "because want!" I bought one of those lip glosses from Gerard and everyone loves the whole mirror light at the end of the wand feature but eh it's ok.

Can you make a trip to CA so we could have an addict meeting at Morphe Brushes, and this store you would die we have called Naimei's Smiley smile

JoRocka - I'm definitely not a makeup snob. Sephora* overwhelms me so I don't even go in there; I buy everything at CVS and Marshalls (except for the Dr. Jart which I get from Amazon).

I'm trying to find a good mascara. I used to wear nothing but Max Factor and I'm still mad that they folded. Come back!!

I might have to give ELF a try, maybe at least with an eye shadow or something. I always see their products at Marshalls and Ross. Maybe I'll pick up the mascara that Rebecca mentioned.

Maybelline upping their game. One of the reasons they continue to be one of my favorite drug store brands.

I never learned how to apply makeup so I literally own a tube of mascara and a liquid foundation.

But I did mention to a friend that I wanted to start learning and she got me a $75 Sephora gift card. But that store--holy overwhelming. Any suggestions on where to start? I'd like to learn how to fill my eyebrows, they're pretty dark but a little sparse and I have scars through both of them. Any suggestions on a brow-filling product?

I love this thread. I couldn't even read through all the comments because I wanted to say I love it. Makeup is amazing! This is my look from yesterday. I used naked smoky and vice 4. Both are Urban Decay and my heart belongs to them. This year I will be learning how to contour!

If anyone is looking for a great liquid foundation try Make Up Forever Ultra HD foundation, I buy mine at Sephora ... I liked the formula better when it was just the HD but sadly it isn't made anymore. The Ultra HD is still the best I've found. Mac Pro Longwear Concealer is my favorite under the eye concealer, I just a Beauty Blender to blend it out. I get all of my makeup tips from Jaclyn Hill on Youtube haha I've easily been watching her for a few years now ... check her out!!!

ETA: JoRocka, I LOVE Morphe ... their 35O palette is easily my favorite and it's so affordable!

3LOL- everone swears by anastasia beverly hills brow products- I'd start there- honestly I'm lazy I don't do my brows- so- I only have 3rd party research experience with it. But literally EVERYONE I follow on youtube uses it.

    EVERYONE.

I think NYX and Maybelline just released their versions- but if you want to go all in- start with ABH.

Chloe- if you want to invest that money-get brushes. But- only down side- you can get really REALLY nice complete brush sets from Sigma or Morphe for less... and the thing about going to sephora- you can swatch colors and try things out- brushes you don't really need to. So it's a trade off.

I'd rather invest money on a whole kit of brushes and get stuff I can see/swatch in person with that gift card.

Base products are a nice way to spend the money- or a palette.

A good quality contour palette wouldn't be bad- or a big nice juicy standard palette- you can't really go wrong with the Naded palettes (any of them).

Really for 75 bucks you're going to get 2 nice things (a nice thing there is like 40-50&dollarSmiley winking so you'll only put out a little bit.

Or you can pick up a handful of specalized things like lippies or eye products or setting sprays and primers.

Is there something specific you wanted to work on or try first?

@Chloe- nicely done with the purples!!!! I love purples- it took me a long time to conquer my fear... I mean inability to not make myself have black beaten person eye balls. I really want the UD smoked- that's high on my priority list... but not in the budget.
