Let's have some fun! How did you meet?

I was helping my college off campus apartment landlord move in new tenants. I saw his last name on a file before I met him and said to myself "Ugh! I'd HATE to have THAT last name!" When he came to move in I did his paperwork and that was that. A few days later he came up to me on campus and the rest is history! (BTW the last name is Ruszczyk)

We worked together!! He said I looked like a hot secretary. We didn't date or talk outside of work until I ran away (for a weekend) to FL because I had just ended a tumultuous relationship and he drove down to surprise me. He was very much a gentleman the entire weekend and on Sunday, on our way back (I cancelled my returning flight), he asked if I would be his girlfriend. Very whirlwind and now 3 years later, we'll be married!

Another match.com couple. We showed up in each other's daily 5 around late December 2009 however he didn't email me until January 1st or 2nd. Not sure which date, I was a little hungover on the first. Our first date was 3 weeks later and we've been together ever since. We eloped back in January on the 26th, 4 years and 4 days after our first date.

My sister's husband is FH's best friend. The rest took care of itself

We met at work. He started training a few desk down from me and we would just eye each other up every time we walked by, obviously there was an instant attraction. After about a week he was done training and his desk was right across from me. We say it was fate. We would try to find reasons to talk to each other, then one day he IMd me on our company messaging program, we exchanged numbers, he asked me out, we went to lunch for our first date and split a salad lol. The rest is history. We've been together ever since.

His best friend and I were sweethearts at rival High Schools. FH and the boyfriend at the time were best friends at the school they attended. We all 3 ended up at the same college and the FH was his roomate, and when the boyfriend at the time refused to grow up a little I broke it off with him. FH and I had lots in common, and talked a little bit about being a couple, but DRAMA broke that decision off really quickly that came from the ex and his new gf (Why she cared I have no idea) FH and I didn’t talk for over a year, but ran into each other on campus again and began talking. Picked up right where we left off. Realized that things hadn’t changed, we still had so much in common and belonged together. The ex and him are no longer close friends and FH and I have been together ever since.

He was my supervisor at my College retail job. I changed departments ( twice) so we could date in the open. Before that we had to go to his hometown in Illinois to go on date's so no one saw us!

Facebook....kinda. We have known each other since 6th grade, have many mutual friends but never really hung out together. Then one night in December I was watching some sappy movie on the Halmark channel, and stated how depressing it was watching them alone. He commented on it, after a few comments back and forth (76 to be exact) I sent him my phone number. The next day we set up a "first date" for the following week, but we ended up meeting up that Friday, and having 3 first dates before our "real" first date and that's how it began!!!

3 weeks after graduating college, I went to a free outdoor concert at home with some friends. Afterwards, the "bar street" shut down and there a was block party. It was really crowded since it was the first Live at Five, so everyone was packed tightly. FH's friend was talking to someone in the group standing next to us, and FH came over to me and my friend. His opening line was... "so, do you girls know Gordie (FH's friend) too?" We started talking and quickly learned that he had my brother as a TA in college (small world right!!). We left without exchanging phone numbers and I told my friend "That's the kind of guy I should be with". A few days later I got a text from my brother asking "why did I just get an email from an old student asking why I never told him I had a cute little sister???" Gotta give him credit there!!! He then found me on Facebook, and we messaged back and forth until we made plans to meet for a movie.

I was also dating his best friend on and off for a year. I met hubby the first time when I was hanging out with his best friend one day. His best friend wasn't big on commitment though and went away for the military and about a year later I started hanging out with hubby through another mutual friend. We started talking and the rest is history. His best friend was our BM, too lol

We met while lifeguarding (summer job). We were both in college & dating other people so we just became good friends. Ended up dating a couple years later.

We lived in the same neighborhood as kids. spent a summer running around together in between 6th and 7th grade and the I never saw him again until I went to dinner at a friends house (lived 50 miles away) and he was their neighbor. I didn't recognize him until we got talking about where I lived and why he hadn't seen be before. I freaked because I suddenly pictured him jumping in the pool next to me while I was tanning and me screaming at him (yeah so 12). He doesn't remember me from back then which still makes me laugh.

We met at a suite party at a Sci-Fi/Fantasy convention. It was my first con, and I was fully cosplay dressed as a sexy Valkyrie. I was hanging out with a friend of mine who suggested we go to this particular suite party. When we got into the party, I found someone I knew there, a girl whom I used to sing with in a church choir and did camping events with. She introduced me to her older brother, whom she had convinced to come hang out at the con, despite his misgivings about not wanting to be the only guy in his late 40's partying with a bunch of drunk 20-somethings. We had a nice conversation for about 30 minutes or so, then I left to go find some other friends. I came back several hours later, too tired and tipsy to drive home, and FH and I spent a couple hours sitting on the back patio talking, and later crashing in the spare bed in his sister's hotel room (just sleeping, fully clothed, not even a snuggle). The next morning he asked if he could take me to breakfast, and we spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon walking around the convention talking and holding hands. The rest, as they say, is history ...

Oh, and Kim S - I am so jealous! Mrs. Lovett is one of my dream roles. I'm waiting for the chance to step in to her meat-pie-making shoes. :-)

We met at college, he had the biggest crush on my roommate and I even set them up on a double date. It didn't work out and a year later he asked me out! Tying to confession Fridays: I still love giving him a hard time about it!

Technically we met on Facebook. We went to the same high school, grew up a block from each other, have tons of mutual friends (like we seriously know all the same people) but it wasn't until he finally said something to me on Facebook that made us officially "meet" even though we "knew of" each other. He says he was plotting on me for a long time before he got the nerve to say something. I'm so glad he did!

My parents dragged our family to a new church. I was annoyed and sat in the back with a bad attitude. Then a cute boy of course caught my attention.

I was invited to the mid-week youth group and went out of curiosity. Cute boy was there, we chatted, and had a few shared interests, but I didn't put much thought into him. Youth group involved boating so we went inner-tubing together. He accidentally pulled off my swim bottoms!

I knew his sister through a friend so we exchanged phone numbers.

Cute boy wanted my number, so he stole it from his sister's phone; Started texting me, and eventually hung out a few times. This was almost seven years ago. We have been together ever since and will be husband and wife in 21 days!!

FH and I also met in college, but that was 30 years ago :-). I will never forget it. I was applying for a waitressing job and he sat down at the table where I was filling out my application and started flirting, making me laugh and just generally being hilarious. I walked out with a definite crush. I got the job and we worked together for awhile, until one night he offered to walk me home and he gave me the kiss of a life time. We got engaged 27 years later in that very same spot. I lost him for 26 years total, but I have always known that he is the true love of my life. We picked up, right where we left off...and we closed a lot of open doors over the past 3 years, but have never, ever loved anyone like I love FH, in my entire (29 year) adult life.

We met on Plentyoffish.com, I "Favorited" him because I had no idea what to say to him, and luckily he wrote me back! We spoke on the phone and through text for a few weeks before we met, and just hit it off!
