Honeymoon, right after the wedding OR waiting a while?

Private User, on August 9, 2014 at 9:01 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 31

We are getting married in NC and live in MA. We get married Sunday and will be traveling home with family on Monday. I would love to spend some alone time with my groom after the wedding, but there is seriously nothing to do in Murphy and no where to go. Looks like we will be waiting 3-4 months till we go on our honeymoon. Anyone else in my shoes?

We are waiting till Feb (the holiday season is just too intense to be gone)...and we would have just taken time off work so it seemed better to balance it out.

We leave for the airport right after the reception for a 4 am flight! ( going to shower quickly as well!) it was the only way mom would watch my son for the week for sure! So as much as I will miss him I'm looking forward to laying on the beach in st lucia w/o running around after a 2 year old!

We will be leaving right after the wedding. We are going on a National Park road trip honeymoon from Wyoming to Montana, Washington, Oregon, California, and then back home to Michigan. It wasn't my original plan, but we can't leave the country because of immigration issues so this is the new plan. FH loves to drive so I think it will be a great time.

We're waiting til next year. Maintaining a LDR is a lot of travel and I'm looking forward to just moving in together and turning his house into a home. We'll be using his time off to pack up my apartment. I have to relocate so we need to work around his schedule as I will be resigning from my job before the wedding.

We are getting married on Saturday and leaving LATE Sunday evening (11:45pm) for our honeymoon. We'll spend Sunday sleeping in, watching the Seahawks game, maybe seeing some family briefly (though I don't think any out of town fam are coming so we might be able to get out of this), and finishing packing. Looking forward to going right after but I can see the appeal of waiting a few months too.

We got married on a Saturday and took off of work through Wednesday to spend time together and with family who traveled from out-of-state for our wedding. While I really wanted to take our honeymoon immediately, it made more sense to wait, so we are taking our honeymoon next month to Hawaii - totally worth waiting for! I was so exhausted for several days post-wedding I am glad we have decided to wait!

We are leaving the next day--driving out at 5 am to Galveston, TX to catch our cruise! We live north of Dallas and dont mind the road trip (about a 6 hour drive).

We are having a DW so right after the reception we are changing hotels to a nicer hotel (I will still be in my gown). I kinda wish there was a little break because I feel like I am just going to be tired

We are waiting a few months because I won't have any vacation days from work until after the first of the new year. I think we are taking a cruise in January, which I'm really looking forward to-- can't wait to get out of snowy Pennsylvania and relax with my DH!

We waited two weeks and I am so glad we did. It helped us get back to " real life " and then take the vacation.

I know people do it, but I couldn't imagine prepping for a wedding and a honeymoon at the same time.

Your choice. We waited as I was in the Military at the time. This allowed us time to plan the wedding and the honeymoon separate of each other and pay for them separately as well. Do what is best for you!

We had a few days at home after the wedding, but DH had to go back to work. So we waited until February to take our honeymoon, 6 months after the wedding. Plus going to Mexico in February when you live in Canada is a great escape.

We're going on a family moon. Getting married on Friday and leaving for Silverwood on Saturday. Take my kids on a little vacation before school starts. Plus, I won the admission tickets and over night stay at a hotel so that saves us some money. We'll be doing a honeymoon sometime next year.
