Flats, pumps or stilletos? its a height thing

Proud to be Mrs. Johnston!, on February 2, 2010 at 2:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 27

Im just under 5'9 and my FH 5'9 exactly. What the heck should i put on my feet? I have to keep in mind ill be on grass unless I put down rose pettals which wont help at all to keep from airating the soil with my heels. I went to a wedding where the bride was significantly taller than the groom and when it was time to kiss his bride, the groomsmen pulled out a stool for him to stand on to kiss her.. I want no humiliating moments for my FH either! ballet slippers or wedges? arrrgh! any help?

Personally I would wear flats. I'm 5'5, he's 5'11, but I'd still wear flats. I do not have the foot stamina to wear heels throughout the reception. If you're having the ceremony outdoors, I'd definitely go with flats.

I'm on the same boat except FH is 5'3 and I'm 5'4. He says he is cool with me wearing heels but I dunno if I would be. He just likes the idea of the girls being all in his face lol. I'm considering flats or super fancy chuck taylor's. Besides, most wedding gowns hide your feet so I don't think it would matter too much.

Well I am about a half inch taller than FH and I wear heels 6 days a week. He doesn't have a problem with it. He said he always wanted someone he could look up to lol. He actually hates me in flats. But just to be sure I asked him if he wanted me to wear flats for the wedding and he said absolutely not. My shoes are about 3 to 3 1/2 inches for the weddind and I got a cute pair of flats to slip on incase my feet get tired.

My FH is 4-6 inches taller, but I'm wearing flats: for my own comfort, and because I'd like to feel like a delicate flower on my wedding day...

My FH is 5'7 or 8 and I am 5'5. I will be wearing flip flops. There are very nice flip flops, not the kind you would buy at Target, but still flip flops none the less. No one will see my shoes anyway so I am not concernd but my FH requested that I not wear heals and I wouldn't want to anyway.

I would go with the flats for comfort and height. I'm 5'2 and FH is 6 feet so i am doing a 2 inch stack heel so I don't look so short.

FH and I are the same height... he was a bit chagrined when I showed him the shoes I bought (heels). But he got over that quickly when I told him that if I didn't wear the heels then we would have to spend another $200 to get the hem of my dress altered. Now he's fine with it. Ha!

I'm 5'10" and fh is 6'1" - I'm either wearing kitten heels or flats. I want to be comfortable and nothing annoys fh than a woman wearing uncomfortable shoes.

My Fh and I are the same height. I'm going to wear flats for several reasons. I will be walking on grass for the cermony and don't want to slip or hit a divet and fall. Also no weird pictures of me bending down for our kiss. I also wear heels all the time for work and would enjoy a day without suffering. Also realize some men dress shoes can have a bit of a lift if you wanted to get small heels. Good Luck

I'm wearing Chuck Taylor's because I want to be comfortable and it reflects my personality.

Well, my FH is a smidge taller than me, and our ceremony is outdoors, as much as I love heels, I'm wearing flats, as I would be switching to flats for the reception anyways, so I just went with flats.

Personally i only feel dressed up when i am in some sort of heal. With the grass you do not in any way want to do a stilletto or heal end. I would do a slight wedge so it doesnt make you to much taller but you feel dressed up still. Remember your groom will be in shoes too!

I would just sew the ribbon on myself. That is what ballet dancers do, to be honest. Most real ballet shoes normally don't come with the ribbon (I think toe shoes are the exception), just sewed on later.

I'm about a half inch taller than DH but the height thing doesn't bother him at all. I was more worried about how it would look in pics if I towered over him. I wore low heels that were bout an inch an a half so I was a little taller than him. In some of the pictures it's obvious but in others (like the one on my profile pic) it wasn't because of where we were standing or if I slipped out of my shoe for a picture. I mostly decided on the low heel because I didn't like any of the flats that I saw.

My FH is 5''9 and i'm 5''3 I want to wear a small heel to feel more dressed up and make for cute pictures. I've found a few that are cute on Nordstrom's wedbsite and even on amazon and overstock.com

I am barely 5 foot so I don't have to worry about being taller than FH! But I would go with the flats...I'm gonna wear heels for awhile and then have some flats or even flipflops to change into later!
