Could I Get Preggo?

My wedding is about three weeks away (ahh, cue the excitement and stress!). I was home visiting my family for my bridal shower this past weekend, and someone left the door open to my dad's office. My wedding is about three weeks away (ahh, cue the excitement and stress!). I was home visiting my family for my bridal shower this past weekend, and someone left the door open to my dad's office. Their dog busted in, broke into my purse, and ate one of my BC pills. I missed my pill Saturday night and obviously can't make it up. Last night, my FH and I did the deed. And I'm pretty sure yesterday and today I'm ovulating. Could I get preggo from missing that one pill? The thought of it is super exciting, and now I kind of want to stop taking my pills altogether lol. We're planning on starting to try soon after the wedding, but could it happen now?

I'm confused by this post... 1) how did the dog get 1 pill- that's pretty talented- as someone with fingers and nails I sometimes struggle with just getting 1 pill out of the pack 2) why would you not use a condom when you know you skipped a dosage? I cannot imagine being pregnant right before getting married. First trimester is no fun (bloating, cramping, morning sickness) this is the one thing I did not mess around with before my wedding. 3) how do you know you were ovulating over the weekend? the whole point of the pill is to prevent ovulation. The hormones you are ingesting trick your body into not ovulating- which is why its recommended to be off BC for 3 months before you are TTC. If I was still showing signs of ovulation while on the pill- I would have to get a new BC method. Good luck with everything- hope the dog is okay.

I am so glad someone on page 2 finally asked about the dog because that was all I could think about reading this post.

OP, other people have it covered. But just to reiterate: a healthy couple timing intercourse perfectly has only a 20-30% chance of conceiving that cycle (and some say that's a HIGH estimate). Skipping one pill may or may not lead to you ovulating. If you ovulated, it may or may not have happened at the right time for your sex last night to work. Even if timing was perfect, you still have about only a 25% chance. So I would say your chances are 25% at best and 0% at worst. Is that the answer you were looking for?

How do you know you're ovulating? You don't ovulate over the course of two days, so I'm confused by your statement that you're pretty sure yesterday and today you're ovulating. You seem excited about this, so maybe it's a good time to talk to your FH about you guys starting to try a little bit sooner.

@KM...seriously? That is crazy! I don't have dogs so I guess I underestimated their abilities. Shit, I can barely get them out of the pack myself. BC pills are so frickin tiny!!!

Dog is perfectly fine. I'm really not sure how he managed to just get one pill out. He tore the outer case apart, and some of the sealant that keeps the pills in the actual pack are torn as well. What can I say--he's a superdog! He's totally fine though.

I know! We're packing to move and I had the box of pills in a crate. She took the box out of the crate, chewed it open, took a pack of pills out, popped one open and left the rest. I definitely underestimated her intelligence with this one.

Did anyone check with the Vet to make sure the dog will be OK from eating your BC pill?

I think others have answered your question but I too will attest to the fact that its is quite possible for dogs to get into a pill pox and only take one pill, it happened with my bulldog.

Well KM maybe yours was disgusting but dogs love BC pills for some reason. I've had multiple friends (including myself) have dogs devour full packs.

FYI for those wondering- i called my doctor when he hate the whole pack. He said my dog may have extra mood swings that month but would be completely fine.

@athena, I have done my best to add to the ridiculousness by including my cat medication and dinner plans. Happy layover

Thanks Emmy! In Minneapolis now. Should have been back on Iowa by 1115 but bad weather and a delay won't get me back home till 245. Not horrible, but still annoying!
