I think you should just let nature take its course. Most animals know how to behave at a formal event. For a while anyway. What happens, happens. You can only control your guests behavior so far. The rest is up to them. As long as all the animals know the guest list, let them decide if they want to attend. I would make the most threating animals wear a red band. You know, as a warning sign to others.
