Did you feel extremely stupid when you found your dress, then discover other brides said yes to the same dress?

This I feel so stupid, it shouldn’t even be a thing. But here we are, I just wanted to know if I’m not the only one who went through this. I found my dress YAY!!! Then one of my best friend’s looked it up and there were other brides who said yes to the same dress. Quite a few with their pictures all over the place. I’m happy for them! But I wanted a dress that nobody else had so it couldn’t be compared. Now I was thinking is it copy paste? Am I dumb? What’s….what’s wrong with me. Why am I frustrated with myself? Or is it a good thing to see how others did it so I can do it differently? I’m so confused and I think I’m a mad woman for feeling like this. An absolute mad woman.

Everyone wants to feel unique on their day for sure. But sadly if your dress is not custom made it will resurface on other brides. Perhaps you can return it and have your gown custom made? Is there a way you can add embellishments to make it stand out as unique?

I only have money for one dress lol one only so I gotta make it work and I’m down to the wire. This is my one shot and the deposit was put in today and has to be paid off in a month

I decided that I’m gonna view my dress like an empty house ready to be personalized. Just because my dress is commercial doesn’t mean I have to dress it up that way. I can make it my own and it won’t look like the same dress.

If you aren't ordering a custom dress, you should expect other people to have the same one... Also you most likely won't know anyone with the same dress, so it's not really a big deal

I completely understand this feeling as I too go out of my way and pay way more just to have things that are not common. However, to expect to be the only one out there is unrealistic. As long as nobody you personally know has it or has chosen it, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Unless you get a dress specifically made for you that is completely wild, you’re going to see it elsewhere.

This is part of the reason I got a custom dress!
Like others have said, 99% of dresses in stores are bought by multiple people. But it will look different on different people, in different venues, and with different hair/makeup/accessories/viels.
Some of the "easier" ways to make your dress feel unique would be: adding/changing sleeves, replacing the lining with a different colour, adding a belt (if it works with the silhouette), adding an overskirt/half skirt for ceremony (only works well with tighter shilouettes) statement necklace/shoes, unique veil/bridal cape

I’m confused. Are various brides in your social circle wearing the same dress or is it a stranger on Facebook/Instagram? No matter what, you will look different in the dress than someone else. Internet strangers won’t be at your wedding to compare to. Honestly rock your dress and don’t worry about anyone else.

I’m in the SAME boat! I absolutely LOVE my dress and literally fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on. It wasn’t even a month later that I saw quite a few brides getting the same exact one 🤦🏻‍♀️ I thought about swapping it out but I just knew that dress was for me. I’m not going to let it ruin my wedding..one thing I remind myself is..I picked that dress for a reason and once it’s altered, it fits MY body..no one else’s. Hope this helps 😊

That’s the EXACT thing that happened to me lol I’ve been telling the others who’ve been commenting that I decided to picture it like an empty house ready to be personalized. It’s the only way I can look at it!

Well I'm sure that they will be someone else who may have my dress. It is a bridal shop. And they picked the same one but I'm just happy that when i was trying on dresses. Then I tried on my dress that I said yes too I was very happy had the moment. But we all will look different if someone else has your dress. Because you will have other things that you have added or bought too make it your dress. And no one else will look like you so sweetheart dont think about them you will look amazing in your dress. I hoped that this help and made you feel a little better.

I got the same dress as the girl trying on dresses next to me! She's actually the reason I found my dress because my sisters saw it on her and thought I would like it!

To me it didn’t really matter. I did buy a dress but ultimately wore a different dress that I bought for $50 of the Facebook marketplace. I had it altered in the back to make it look different. But I loved the dress. Find a way to make the dress different.
