Destination wedding

Awesome! That's my birthday . We're eloping in Hawaii with immediate family (total of 10 of us) and having a dinner reservation afterward. I'm also doing everything by email.

View Quoted Comment Honestly? Have a loose schedule and a few details/events you want but be flexible with the rest. I wanted a bonfire the night before... i wanted a long table with greenery the day of. I got both and everything else was beautiful in addition to the things we wanted.


Your event is their job and they are a hell of a lot better at it than i am. So i just let them do their thing.

Yea, I'm super excited! Neither of us have ever been so there's going to be a lot of first experiences together. So close, yet soooooo far away lol

We’re doing our DW in Cancún 08/08/20 and I can’t wait!!!!! Yes all this planning through email requires patiences lol... I wanted to do a diff country but my FH thought it’d be better for guests there lol... how far are you into the planning???

We're eloping in Savannah, GA. Not as far, but still far enough for calls and emails only.

We leave for Cancun on May 11th wedding on the 15th we have 50 people attending our DW!

So I wouldn't necessarily consider my wedding a destination wedding but very close! My Fiance is from Hawaii and he has family there so we are going to have it there (SUPER EXCITED!!) So I do get the perks of having help and people to check on things, however for my side of the family, it's basically a destination wedding. And then in case everyone can't travel we will have a "meet & greet" when we return for anyone that was unable to travel.

I'm getting married in October 2020, at the Sandals South Coast resort in Jamaica. I understand exactly what you're going through. I'm excited and nervous as well but 7 days in paradise will be my remedy...lol

We're also planning a destination wedding for May 2020. We may end up in Jamaica as that seems most cost effective for our guests, but we'd love to go to Turks & Caicos. Don't get me wrong, Jamaica is beautiful! The food is good and the people are so nice! I've just been there a few times before so we wanted something different. Mexico is out for us due to my dad and other guests being federal govt employees (they're not currently allowed to travel there due to travel restrictions). I'd be interested to hear where (what resort) everyone has had or will be having their DW! I'm stressing out about the venue and the costs for our guests!
