Destination wedding

We're having a destination wedding in Hawaii, on September 19, 2019.. 35 ppl so nothing big but still a lot of emailing and calls. I have a wonderful planner who is handling everything.

Yes I am. My planner is with Simply Eloped. We pretty much have everything planned out already for our ceremony. We're just waiting to put a down payment.

View Quoted Comment Same! And yes we are with a travel agent and I’m expecting about 10-15 not 100% sure yet. I feel like the tricky thing with DWs is people will say they are going but if they actually go when it comes down to it who knows.

Thank you for this post. We have been going back and forth about this for a while now. How has your exp with sandals been so far? We booked our honeymoon at one of their resorts in st Lucia and were so excited. However we have been talking about doing a destination wedding there too. It looks so beautiful from all the pictures.

View Quoted Comment So far I am happy with my decision. It’s more financially affordable for us over having a wedding back home. The only thing I came across is the picture packages are pricey and the wedding itself can get pricey if you do a lot of add ons. I am just doing the basic free wedding that comes with the 3 night or longer stay so it just really depends on what you want. I also heard someone mention secrets for a destination wedding as well.

You're welcome. I actually checked out Modern Elopement and for us it just seemed a bit much for so little (as far as location options). We went with Simply Eloped because they had far more location options we were able to customize our ceremony way more to our personalities and add traditional Hawaiian elements.

Granted there's a couple things extra that Modern Elopement offers than Simply Eloped but those are things we're ok not having. Hope you find what you're looking for and good luck with whatever you choose!

Jamaica sounds exciting! We are having a small wedding in Fort Myers Beach, FL April 7th, 2020. We're using Platinum Florida Weddings so everything is pretty much done already

Congratulations Brittany! We live in DC and are getting married in Hawaii on Oahu in June 2020. Skyping with the planner (she’s in HI) helped us feel more relaxed about being so far away. I’m so excited!

Congratulations!! We’re getting married in St. Lucia this summer. Honestly, I’ve loved having a planner and just coordinating via email.

We are having a destination wedding in key largo in October and we are going down memorial weekend to see the venue and do some taste testing.
