DD Brides.. Need strapless shapewear suggestions

Bailey, on August 27, 2015 at 5:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

I have my first fitting next week and need to find strapless shapewear before then. Luckily my mom is coming up this weekend so we can shop for a dress for her so I'll have an opportunity to look for myself.

My dress has an illusion neckline so I will need something strapless, this TERRIFIES me because I'm a 36 DD and anything strapless is usually a no no. I would like a body suit or at least something that goes down to my hips for added support. Don't think I would like a slip because I don't want the possibility of it riding up. Let me know where you bought your "under the dress goodies".

Thanks ladies!

I am not a DD but I got shapeware this weekend at Kohls. They had a huge selection, so if there is one near you, you might try there.

Hey there! I am an F cup Smiley smile And I can still wear strapless! You just need a great bra. I really like the Cacique Intimates brand - I wear their multi-way strapless bra all the time. The key is to make sure that the band fits very well because that is where all the support comes from, and it helps to order the bra 1 cup size higher than normal so that the girls are completely tucked away!

(this feels like a lot of internet over-sharing for me, but had to help a fellow girl in need!)

I am at least a DD in regular bras (let's just say that's what I squeeze those ladies into anyway). I bought a long line strapless bra at David's Bridal. Just make sure you go in and TRY THEM ON!! Seriously, their cup sizes run large, and I ended up ordering a C cup for myself...something I never would have ordered had I not tried several different sizes in the store.

I'm a DD and I bought a longline bra from bare necessities online. I got a lace one made by Dominique but they carry many different brands. It is amazing, I never feel like it is slipping down or needs to be adjusted. I have worn it a few times since my wedding.

I second cacique. They were hands down the best bras I've ever bought loved them when i was a 36 DDD.

I wore a Dominique style 8950 Longline Strapless Smooth Torsolette Wedding Bra. NotFroofy wore a Le Mystere Bridal Seduction Bustier Bra 2355. Pretty much any longline bra will give you support, because the support comes from the boning that is supported by your hips. So try some on to see what fits and is comfortable.

Longline corset bra worked for me...though I am a D, not DD.

Hey we're the same size!Smiley smile Agreeing with what some others have said—a corset bra is where it's AT. Best of luck!

I'm a 36DDD/E and second(third, fourth) long line bras. If you use Amazon prime check them out. Either the Dominque or Carnival brand. They definitely jack up the prices seasonally during wedding season but they were prime with free returns and half the price of DB. Just make sure to order a bunch to find your size. I wear a 42C in long line bras.

I am a DD too and my dress has spaghetti straps and a built in Corset bra so luckily I don't actually need shapewear for mine. Have you tried the dress on without shapewear? Are you certain that you actually need it? I thought that I would need it until I tried mine on without it and it fit like a glove. If you decide to go without, just make sure you do the jumping test, the arms in the air test and the bending over test to make sure your girls will stay in place the whole time. I refused to get a strapless dress for the same reason you're worried about the strapless bra. Even though the Spaghetti straps are small, they give me the comfort factor that I needed.

I'm not quite a D, but my dress will require strapless too. But I have a very low back. Depending on how low your back is, get a corset.

My dress will obviously be fitted properly but it's chiffon and quite flowy so I don't think sewing cups in is the best route for me. I honestly want something that will (for lack of better words) squash the girls down some. Definitely checking out the long line and I do have Amazon prime so thanks for that suggestion!!

I'm bigger than a DD. When I had my fitting for my strapless dress, I brought shapewear and put it on because I thought that's what I was supposed to do.

The seamstress told me to take it off because it was apparently doing weird things to my boobs. So I would bring shapewear, but listen to your seamstress. If your dress is really structured like mine, you might be fine without it and just have cups sewn in.

I'm a DD/DDD depending on the bra. For my dress, I got a longline corset bra from David's bridal. For strapless, I love the walcoal line. They're amazing. They stay in place and don't pinch.

Is your dress a corset back? If it is, you might not need anything. I'm on the line between a DD/DDD and with my corset dress I didn't need anything. The corset contained everything. Smiley winking

I am a G cup. Ugh. I went to Nordstroms and got fitted for a low back long-line strapless bra. The brand is Va Bien. Pricy but it works.
