Day Of Helpers

Rachel W., on May 10, 2012 at 9:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

We're almost there, and I need to come up with a list of things for my bridal party to help me with. I'm completely Type A OCD, and have to have a list for everything. lol

So what am I missing? I need someone to help:

-point out important people to photographer

-give out bouquets and boutonnieres

-put together dessert display

-set up programs at entrance to ceremony

-hand out tip envelopes

-be a frontman for me with wedding party participants with questions

My MOH is only 10, so she doesn't really know what to do. Am I missing anything? Are there more things I'll need that are so obvious that I'm missing them?

Thanks

Meeting vendors at the site (or do you have a coordinator?)

label assigned seats at the ceremony

    hold the wedding license

we're taking pictures during cocktail hour so i'm having someone get a plate of apps together for us in case we miss them Smiley smile

any pets that need attention that day while you're busy getting ready?

A few more if you have no DOC:

Director for rehearsal, down-the-aisle and reception itinerary

Point person for your vendors (give vendors the person's cell #, make sure they carry)

Pin bouts & corsages (guys usually have no clue)

Help with bustling your dress prior to the reception

Round up guests and pass out sparklers, or whatever for the departure, give instructions if needed

Assign several people to gather and take home items after: leftover alcohol, cake, food; gifts & gift cards; decor/photos/sign-in/cake topper, etc., etc. - tired parents often get stuck w/ too much for one vehicle

Assign a person to check for personal guest items that may be kicked under tables, etc.

    Best wishes!

As a DOC, one of the things that come up often are guests with no seats. Have a point person to manage any seating issues such as none rsvp and extra guest of guest have your master guestlist handy and the person know how you want this handled. Congrats!

One that I totally forgot about and had to ask random people at the reception, if you have a lot of fabric on your dress you may want to ask someone to be your bathroom attendant. lol I know it sounds funny but to have someone in the restroom with you and holding your dress while you take a tinkle is kind of embarrassing if you dont think about it ahead of time.

Yes, I actually did think of that. LOL I haven't asked yet, I'm sure I'm gonna get some laughs.

My dress may be manageable, but I will probably ask her to come in with me just in case. lol
