Davids Bridal Wedding gown return

Jess, on December 29, 2012 at 9:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Ladies, I bought my dress about 4 months ago from Davids Bridal. I loved the dress when I bought it. But after a day of thinking about it after i purchased it, I thought to myself did I make a mistake? So when the dress came in I tried it on. I didnt have the feeling I did so I thought Ill try again tomorrow and I have tried it on 4 other times and still nothing Smiley sad

I feel as though I bought it because I had been waiting a year to finally purchase one, so I bought it just because!

Now I want to return my dress, I have read Davids Bridal does not do returns just exchanges, but I can't find my receipt. The tags are still on and I just got it a week ago. do you think they would exchange it for in store credit without the receipt?

They might. I put a deposit on my gown and then hurricane Sandy hit and I missed payments. they were kind enough to extend a store credit for the amount of money put down. call them and find out.

I bought my dress origianlly in Feb or March of 2012. Last month (Nov) I realized the consultant had ordered a regular size and I needed a bigger one so I went into DB and they readily accomodated me. Cut to my picking up the dress and deciding it wasn't what I wanted. Themanager allowed me to set up another appointment an I went in, tried on more dresses and found one that was $300 cheaper than my original dress. I was allowed to spend that difference in any way (I bought BM jewelry and ordered one of my BM's dresses and a few other odds and ends with the balance. All w/o having to show my original receipt b/c they still had me in the computer. I hope this helps.

I have exchanged my original dress as well as two bridesmaid dresses after they were discontinued. I never had any issues at all. They won't do a refund but they are excellent about exchanges. My advice is to call first and talk to someone. Get their name and then when you go up there to exchange it, if anyone seems to have an issue, you have a person by name that you can refer to.

If you used a credit card maybe you can show the statement as proof of purchase. I've found its best to charge everything for this reason.

I had to exchange sizes on mine and they were great. Just like Rowena, I didn't need the receipt because I was in the computer. I'm guessing that's their policy since we are probably in different parts of the country.

Good luck finding a new dress! They have a ton to choose from, I'm sure you'll find the perfect one for you!

I feel the same way Smiley sad bought my wedding dress on 9/19/2014 that's about 4 months as well. tried on my dress at the store & fell in love but when I went back to try it on at home a couple of times, I wasn't in love with it. I lost my receipt also and my dress still has tags on it. By the way did you have any luck with exchanging your wedding dress??

I wish I read the reviews before purchasing my dress. Bought the dress first time getting into David's bridal. It was the biggest mistake ever. The person who helped me, made it sound like the dress was going to take forever to be made. But it came in within two weeks. Not exactly my size and the thing really made me very upset is that flare of the dress didn't settle as the dress I tried on the first time. So I called and told mthem that I'm not happy of how it fit and how the dress is looking when I wear it. The lady told me because it wasn't press. Told them "why didn't you guys press it before giving to me." And I was told it's going to cost me $30 to press. Now why would I pay extra, to see the dress exactly the way I had tried it on the first time. The dress was $1000 and up! After convincing them that I should not be paying more to get it to how the dress really supposed to be. And now they are calling me the dress is ready. I gave up, I don't feel excited at all to see the outcome. There's more to tell, but oh well I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't recommend David's Bridal at all. Cause once you pay for the dress. It's all up to you ?? (Alteration, pressing etc) pay up more ??
