Coronavirus: Postponing wedding? Special things to do day of in its place

For anyone postponing your wedding (or considering), what special things are you thinking to do on your originally planned wedding day? Still making a day out of it with your partner? Headed to the courthouse?

Our original date was April 25th. We would really love to still get married on that date since it has meaning for us, but we’re in Illinois and we’re under shelter in place orders until April 7th. So we’ll see how that goes. Our new date is September 13th and we just don’t want to wait until then.

I don’t imagine that was easy, but happy you have a new date! I hear that. Ours isn’t until early September, but with most our guests coming from out of state and a significant portion coming from out of the country, so they would be in town more like late August. I know it’s still far out but we’re struggling with the idea of keeping the date especially because of older family members overseas. If we keep the date I think it might be too big a strain for our guests to think about and prepare for a wedding here with the back and forth of wondering whether or not things will return to normal late summer like they’re predicting. We’re not hopeful family make it. Idk idk idk

We were going for May 4th but had to reschedule to July next year 😪. The original date will be our 5y anniversary so we’re planning to (hopefully) have a big day-long date & go to our favorite places from past dates that are meaningful

I'm sorry about your having to postpone but love that you're looking on the bright side and making the most of your original day Smiley heart A few other members are in the same bote and also looking for ways to share how they will be spending their would-be day.

Rescheduled wedding - what are you doing on that day?

For those brides postponing how are you honoring your initial date?
