Chipotle for Catering?

Kylie, on September 8, 2016 at 4:09 PM Posted in Planning 1 109

My fiance and I both love chipotle and he really wants them to cater our wedding. I am not opposed to it because I also love chipoltle but I'm wondering what our guests will think. We're also going to have a candy and desert bar with cupcakes and cookies but I just wanted other opinions.

What time of day and how casual is your wedding?

I think it would be OK, as long as your wedding is pretty casual

We are probably doing Olive Garden or Maggianos, all just depends on a venue

I went to a wedding that had stations with tacos, nachos, and chicken fingers, fries, and sliders, and a mac and cheese station - would it be my choice? No, but it was AWESOME! Dinner was great, and so was the party atmosphere.

If Chipotle fits your desired atmosphere, and you, FH (and if anyone is paying - whoever that is) is cool with it - as a guest I think it's something different and cool.

If people who have opinions that matter aren't comfortable with it - maybe welcome/rehearsal dinner?

Would they be proving plates and silverware? I went to a wedding where a local grocery store catered and it was classy and delicious. We only notice it when they were giving out cookies in their store brand bag.

As long as its a casual wedding, go for it! I know I would love to eat Chipotle at any time!

    No.

I'd be annoyed- because I really don't like chipotle and if I know that's what I'm getting fed I'm going to eat somewhere else.

I second @ZeldaBride and @Breezy. (Perhaps for different reasons but same sentiment.)

As someone who despises Chipotle because of how they're undermining our US farmers and ranchers, I would probably not eat at your wedding and would go grab some Wendy's instead. Please have a second option if you decide to continue on with this route.

I LOVE Chipotle but I wouldn't think they'd have enough options for a wedding.

I mean, but do you really want to serve your guests fast food at a wedding?

I can't stand chipotle. (Only bc I can't stomach cilantro)

But lets say you had Qdoba... That would be awesome in a casual setting.

But id also make sure to have another option for those who don't like it.

I LOVE chipotle and would never dream of having them cater my wedding. It's a fast food place. No.

But also no for Olive Garden or Maggiano's. Your wedding reception is not strip mall dinner.

YES! @ALN I'm so happy to hear other people talk about that company and their "marketing" strategy. I don't even like the food anyways. Lol
