Cheap wedding video

Katie, on March 16, 2021 at 8:37 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10
Help! I have to cut cost because our budget changed.
I still want a wedding video but don’t know if there is an alternative idea to a videographer which usually cost around 1500$
Please help

Get a couple GoPro cameras and film the wedding that way. You can also use it for future events.

I agree with Michelle. That’s personally what I am doing but we have two go pros one set up at each end of the aisle, and having my father in law press record when we are ready to begin. However if you do not have a go pro they can be costly. Just throwing this out there, if you have a tripod for you phone or a camera you could record it on that or have someone who you trust to record the ceremony. With phones nowadays they are so clear with videos and photos, it would work out fine id think. Best of luck

You can look for student videographers or videographers looking to gain portfolio experience

I recommend going on Facebook or Thumbtack, and look for new videographers that are still building up their resume.

My husband and I ended up going with a fairly cheap affordable videographer that was still fairly new to his craft, and was just starting out. His work wasn't as polished as we wanted it, but we didn't have the budget either to spend $3000+ on one. At the end of the day, we got the wedding video and that's all that matters. Thankfully, we made sure to put it in his contract, that he give us "all" the raw footage he took at the wedding, so we can have a professional videographer put it all together to make a longer wedding video.

Hi Katie! There are some national companies that offer pretty cheap videography services! 🎥

You should check out Wedding Bug Studios, George Street Photo & Video, and Lily and Lime.

Thumbtack is great for throwing your budget out and seeing what you get.

The cheapest idea is obviously to hand a camera to someone and then edit whatever you get yourself.

I orded a tripod that has a Phone attachment from amazon, $20 it wont be the same quality as a videographer. However, you'll still get a recording. Best of wishes to you 💕

Do you have a friend or relative who you could ask to just take a video? I took a video of my friend’s wedding just on my phone. It wasn’t the best quality or anything but it was enough to remember the day by and she loved it!
