Can you identify this dress designer? Enzoani?

RedApple, on June 13, 2013 at 11:23 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 43

I tried on this dress at a local shop but they have their designer dresses coded and won't let me know the designer until I pay a non-refundable deposit! I was so disappointed with their lack of customer service throughout the appointment that I would like to find another retailer who carries it. Looks like Enzoani but I'm not able to find this exact dress. It is a modified a-line, with lace appliques, a few soft inverted pleats in the skirt, covered buttons down back, pleated cross-over soft sweetheart strapless neckline with no "bling" or belt. Here is the list of designers they carry: Alfred Angelo

Allure

Amalia Carrera

Angelina Faccenda

Bliss by Monique Lhuillier

Casablanca

Cosmobella

David Tutera

Davinci

Demetrios

Enzoani

Eve of Milady

Forever Yours

Ginza

Jasmine

Jim Hjelm

Manuel Mota

Mary’s

Maggie Sottero

Mikaella

Marisa

Moonlight

Mori Lee

Nicole Miller

Paloma Blanca

Private Label

Pronovias

Rivini

Sottero & Midgley

Watters & Watters

They wouldn't tell you the designer until you paid for it? That's weird.

How much were they charging for the dress? That will help narrow down that list of designers significantly.

That's ridiculous that they wouldn't tell you the designer! I would be so pissed! Sorry I don't have a more helpful comment in terms of finding out what dress it is...

Even if you found out the dress - I wouldn't buy from this shop. Jerks....

I wish Lizz was still here ... it looks so much like her dress! I'm going to see if I can get the info from her.

I wonder what the rationale is behind not telling you who the designer is?

& if you went in to the store and said I am looking to purchase a dress made by XXX designer.... what would their response be?

It looks a LOT like Misty's suggestion....could be an alternative if you don't find the exact one...

Thank you all for your responses! These are all very similar to the dress except for the bodice is a cross over look but not actually two pieces of fabric. Oh, and I forgot to mention that not only do they remove the tags and code the dresses, they don't allow you to take pictures in the shop. They actually follow you in the tiny dressing room to unzip and make sure you are getting out of it with supervision, hence why I had to quickly snap the 2 pics I posted before exiting the room. I don't want to bash the shop online so let's just say they are in the New Orleans area, have been in business for 40 years, and boast that they are the South's largest bridal store. They said the reason they don't disclose the designer and style # or let you take pictures until you put down a deposit is b/c they pay a lot of fees to carry the designer dresses and then girls have them made overseas. So they just lost a bridal gown, MOG, MOB & bridesmaid gowns purchase as far as I'm concerned!

Ew! So they're basically an actual Chinese Knock off website with an actual store?!?! That's terrible. Who is this?!?!?

Oh, and as another clue in this little game, she said the the dress was $1,300.

No, they are a legitimate shop that has been in business with a store front for 40 years. They don't allow you to know what the dress designer is or take pictures because they are afraid you are going to take the information and go home and order the dress online from China and they will lose a sale. Really?

@outthewindow, I think she is saying that customers find the dresses online and have them made cheaper, not the store.

My store had a similar policy.

That looks pretty much identical to a Mori Lee I tried on. Their website either isn't current or I tried on a dress from last season. take the pic and do a google image search. like go to google, click on images at the top and then in the search bar it'll give you the option to upload a pic. Google will search the web for the dress. hopefully that helps!

Wow, Abbiell, I didn't realize that you could search Google images via an uploaded image. No luck yet, but what a great tool for so many things, especially Pinterest wedding images you like but don't know where to buy them! Thanks!

Use the wedding dress finder here and elsewhere on the net. You select its characteristics: a-line, strapless, sweetheart, lace and look at what comes up.
