Bustle cost..... How much for you?

Beth, on June 7, 2014 at 10:00 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 25

So yesterday I went for my first dress fitting. Hooray! And I am paying over $100. For my bustle. I don't mean to pry, but can you disclose the price you paid for your bustle? I'm curious what the ballpark figure is. Can you also cite where you bought your gown/ where the alterations are being/ were done?

Hey date twin :-) ... I'm seeing a lady tomorrow about my dress alterations, but she's also a family friend so her prices won't compare to going to a bridal store. Not sure where you're located, but maybe try going to another place and see what they charge. This way you have different figures.

I would assume the prices vary btwn going to a bridal store (ie RK Bridal, David's Bridal) then going to a place that's not as known and does alterations.

    Good luck!

I paid $80 bucks. I think it all depends on the dress and how you want your dress to be bustled.

I got a quote of $40 for a very simple bustle on a non fancy dress. I ended up not getting the dress. The quote and dress was at a local wedding boutique in Rockville, Maryland called Fairytale Brides on a Shoestring Boutique.

Edited to include location, store name and link.

Thanks for your input ladies! I was concerned that the price was unreasonable, but it seems to be on the higher end of a pretty common price range......

Mine already had the bustle built in but before we found that out the lady at the bridal boutique told me that the lady she uses charges $5 per bustle point (Charlotte, NC area)

Where I am from we have do many ladies who do alterations out of their home and have great prices. You could still call and check on prices, you may be able to save money or maybe you are getting the deal.
