"Bring your own chair to the wedding"

AlexisM082, on May 28, 2015 at 9:52 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 21

I'm on a Brides of 2016 FB page and I've noticed most of the brides ate located in Europe. I never thought this would be OK anywhere you're located....

From what I've heard about the FB boards, people probably ARE telling her that's cool.

Bus seats decorated as couches? WTF is that? Like seats that she took out of a bus to make more seating?

@Princess I agree, I can't look at advice boards on fb because they just go with whatever sounds good and throw etiquette to the wind.

If I was asked to bring my own chair to a wedding, I'd buy this just to piss them off.

All of the FB boards in my area are pretty much the opposite of here and are hand fed tips in how to be rude. I tried to be really nice and tell someone that they really shouldn't be inviting only one half of married couples and I was called a c*nt, soooo I stopped trying to help lol.

No no no... Everyone gets a seat! WITHOUT having to bring it themselves... Or! She should just invite less people if she doesn't want to rent more. People are so crazy! Haha

Some of the local facebook groups drive me insane as well. I'm still on them because I still have my damn table overlays to sell. There's rude/stupid people everywhere.

I swear this should go in this post and the Dear asshat post.

    Dear Client,

No you can not expect your guests to bring a chair or sit on a blanket on the ground. No, you can not order food for 100 and expect it to feed 140 people. Yes, those 40 people need a place to sit. Yes, they need a plate. No, they won't think eating with their hands is cool or interesting.

Nope! If you invite X amount of people you should have X amount of seats!

So if I have to bring my own chair should I consider bringing my own food and drink as well? Because popcorn would be a good option.

I bet the food at this wedding will be one hot dog per person.

Centuries ago, you could order food for 100 people, and expect it to feed 140 guests, if Jesus was among them.

Yea the FB groups make me cringe on the regular. There are often posts like "help! I need a dress like this for under 100 dollars, I'm getting married in 2 weeks!" or questions about seating, secretly eloping and then expecting parents to pay for a reception after the fact and that everyone should "just get over it" and so on.
