Bridal Shower & Wedding Invites-Timing?

My MOH has decided that she'd like to throw my bridal shower on April 21st or 28th. Let's say she chooses the 21st. I wasn't planning on sending out my wedding invitations until April 8th but now my mom is concerned that people will receive their shower invite before the wedding invite and think they`re just being invited to the shower. Plus, she wants to make sure people have 3 weekends to shop for the shower. So, do I send out the wedding invites early for the people who are also invited to the shower or do I keep with my original plan to send the invites 8 weeks before the wedding? Did anyone else have an "early" shower? How did you work it out?

Yes, my shower invitations went out before my wedding invitations. I have also received most shower invitations before the wedding invitation.

Agreed. shower invitations generally come before wedding invites. unless wedding invites are really early. which was the case for me.

Did you send out save the dates? I'm having two showers. One in June which is way before my wedding so invites will have not gone out yet but save the dates have. I wouldn't worry about sending anything early...just my opinion though.

No. I didn't send save the dates so that's why I was going with 8 weeks prior. Would have been a lot easier if I had done STDs!

My mother made it seem like it would be the end of the world if someone received their shower invite before the wedding invite. I think I'll just keep with my original mailing date because people will at least receive their wedding invite before the shower happens.
