Bridal shower dress - does it need to be white?

It does not have to be white. I actually had never even heard that until a month or so ago here on WW.

NOTHING needs to be white if you don't want it to be! I wore a blue paisley dress to my shower (it was the one we wore for our E-shoot too). I don't have pics or I'd share.

For my bach, I wore a dress with flowers all over it.

I find white not so flattering on me, and I knew I wanted to wear shower/bach dresses again, so I thought it would be silly to wear them in white.

Everyone will know you're the bride!

ETA: I would like to clarify we didn't have a formal "shower", but for my purposes, it kind of was. It was a pseudo co ed shower family BBQ engagement thing.

I think it looks great. There are only so many white dresses you can buy. I'm to the point where I'd rather buy something I'll wear again, than having a closet full of white dresses.

Nope! I also don't love white. I wore a navy blue dress with white flowers on it.

My shower was a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme. I wore a black dress.

I actually wore the same black dress for my bachelorette because I loved it and couldn't find another dress that I liked.

I wore black and white too. I don't know many brides who wore white to their bridal showers to be honest. That dress is beautiful!

Thanks ladies! It seems in a lot of the BAS posts the bride-to-be is wearing a white dress. Glad to hear there isn't an expectation to wear white for everything.

I also want to be able to wear my shower, bachelorette, and RD dresses again. I have never in my life bought so many new dresses in such a short period of time! FH actually picked this dress for me, and I thought it was fun.

It doesn't need to be white. You can wear whatever you'd like.

I do not know what theme, if any, is being used for the shower. It is this coming Sunday, I am pretty excited.

Wear what makes you feel awesome! The only reason I think most people like to wear white to wedding stuff is to stand out as the bride.

That dress is super cute and I think it's perfect for a shower! I am wearing a yellow dress to mine.

That dress is so cute! I don't plan on wearing a totally white dress because I honestly would never wear them again.

I love that dress! I actually am planning to wear white/ivory, only because I think they're awesome colors for my hair/skin tone and I rarely have an appropriate occasion to wear fun white dresses!

I'm only going to wear ivory to my luncheon in lieu of shower because I bought ivory dresses (didn't own any) for engagement photos and may not have too many other occasions to wear them.

You definitely don't need to wear white. I wore a navy blue and coral dress to my shower. Those are my wedding colors but I would have worn that dress even if they weren't.
