So we aren't having any flowers at our wedding. I've been thinking about what the bridesmaids would hold instead of a bouquet then. I've thought about doing clutches or something, but I was wondering if you did something other than a bouquet what did you use or have seen around. I've googled but I like hearing from other people as well. It's not a money thing when it comes to the flowers; I just really hate flowers. So fake flowers or paper flowers aren't what I'm looking for either.

Some of the "ideas" are awesome. I do like the pineapple.

I'm just appalled at people bitching at you because you don't like flowers. WTF. You don't like flowers, why the holy hell should you be bullied into using them?

    NO means NO.

@Pammat - I know. I wasn't aware disliking flowers was the same as sacrificing my first born to Satan.

@ Carousel - Dresses with pockets are the best thing in the world! I agree, new things may seem weird at first to some but they are still fun Smiley smile

Oh dear me! You guys almost have me convinced to have a wedding party! The pics are too funny!

OP when you see the right thing, you will just know!

I vote for them to carry chalkboard signs and to express their feelings during the wedding often by changing the sign.

    "Just kiss the girl"

"Thank God it's an open bar"

    "Used bridesmaids dress for sale"

"Note to self, do not have bachelorette party the night before the wedding"

"Don't worry guys, I'm still single"

JUST KIDDING and no I didn't post the best ones I thought of!

OP when you figure it out let us know... can't wait to see.

    Team Natalie.

Here's an idea. Instead of making your BM's carry something awkward, let them just sit down or eliminate them all together. Because you know that when they come up the aisle carrying a Rubic's Cube, a golf club or an origami alligator, that's the topic of discussion when all thoughts should be on you and the ceremony, not, "why did she do that'; a typical reaction to hay bales, extreme music and anything that is so out of the realm of the imaginable that it goes beyond imaginative.

Of course, I'm ceremony focused, but anything that distracting takes away from the sacred (even if your ceremony is totally secular) nature of the most important part of the day. Something to consider.

I chose fabric flowers I instead of real. I liked the brooch bouquet as well but the ones I liked were very expensive and looked heavy! I love how they turned out. I also like that I will have it forever! I got them from an Etsy shop called the Vintage cabbage rose. Hopefully This link works.

If you do a lantern, they need to be able to hang the lantern from something that will maybe light the alter area up. But I wholeheartedly agree with a beautiful glass of champagne. Esp for a short ceremony. You could get them keepsake flutes, but don't engrave them. Just really pretty ones.

I like flowers, but if you don't want flowers, that's your deal for your wedding. I don't know why so many people seem to be against you... but what about bouquets of greenery or non-flower plants? I went to a wedding where the bride carried sprigs of lavender and the bridesmaids carried bouquets of wheat. Ok it was a lot prettier in person than it sounds... or brooch bouquets?

Iv seen bridesmaids carry lanterns and that was cute. Iv also seen fans. Would you do a greenery bouquet or a bushel of sticks sounds weird but iv seen it in like a winter wedding and it was ...different.
