I love black dresses. you can fancy them up and tailor to your theme/colours using jewelry, and they are nearly always flattering, classy, and timeless. the only BM dress i've ever worn again was a LBD, which is also a nice benefit!
Good! Hahaha. But then again. My wedding is black and white. And my two maids of honor will be in black. And the two groomsmen along with FH will be in all black as well. So yeah. Lol
I'm going to be a bridesmaid. The bride is considering black dresses for us. I said, "Yes, please!" Especially since I might be pregnant by the time of her wedding, it will be much easier for me to find a black dress than anything else!
I'm doing this. Asked my bridesmaids to wear little black dresses. I bought them red pashminas to wear for some color. I did it because I wanted to let them pick their dresses and I didn't want to have to worry about the colors matching.
I don't think the dress in your photo will look like a funeral but it will be pretty formal.

I'm seeing a LOT of BP's in black. For one thing, it looks good on almost everyone, and flowers look beautiful against it. And there IS a chance that your bm's MIGHT wear them again!
Absolutely yes to the black BM dresses! I agree with PP that they would come across as looking more formal rather than funeral. If you're worried about things being monochromatic you can always spice it up with a sash or belt using another color, but I think black BM dresses on their own are elegant and classy AF.
Ours wore long black dresses (formal June evening wedding). I chose them in part because it was easy and in part because the men were all wearing different tartans in their kilts and I didn't want to try to match that. They looked beautiful.
I was going to do black for my BM dresses, but I was googling pics of BMs wearing black dresses and they blended in way too much. I love black - it's classy and elegant, but I wanted my girls to stand out a little more. I am going with a dark gray now.
