Bacne! I'm wearing a backless dress

Vanessa, on July 15, 2017 at 1:58 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

I have a long way to go...but I figured I'd get an early start on ideas. Does anyone have any trouble with acne on their back? My dress is backless and my mother discussed having me talk to a dermatologist prior to the wedding. I've had this issue for a long time.

I went to the dermatologist, she prescribed a cream. I also bought a scrub washcloth and a tea tree oil body wash. I am 99% cleared up now Smiley smile

I was going to suggest tea tree oil as well. Also, when you shower, wash your hair before you wash your back and make sure your back is clear of shampoo and conditioner and any products released from your hair wash. A lot of bacne issues come from residue left on the skin from washing/conditioning your hair. Also, not sure how much water you drink but drink more if you can!

I have the same issue and I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed some meds but insurance doesn't cover them and they're $200 a month and he said I needed at least 2 months of treatment so I said ok bye. I used to use Proactiv deep wash but I can't find that anymore. What's the cream your doctor prescribed?

@Patricia I assume you are referring to @Kristin asking about the cream. But I would love to know too!

I used to have this problem but only in the winter time for some reason. In the summer when I started being out in the sun it would always dry up. But I didn't have any issues with it last winter because I'd always keep my hair over my shoulder after shampoo/conditioner and would wash my back right before I got out.

I highly recommend back facials! They're relaxing, feel good, and help clear skin.

I love, love, LOVE nature's cure. It's a pill you take twice a day and is pretty inexpensive on Amazon.

I don't have the issue anymore, but I was an athlete in high school (competitive equestrian) and sweat was always an issue, Neutrogena makes a great acne body wash that's not crazy expensive. Might try that first and see if it works, before spending crazy money.

I have bacne too. I wash it with Pan-oxyl because that is he only thing that works for me. I also have to use free and gentle tide laundry detergent and dryer sheets because the fragrance in the clothes causes acne on my back too.

Get a long handled scrub brush that will reach your back and a good foaming cleanser, they penetrate well. Also use a clip to keep your hair off of your neck and back after you wash it. If you use any product in your hair wait til you're dressed or put a towel over your neck and shoulders to protect your skin.

She prescribed me Clindamycin 1% Gel. Instructions were to wash my back and then apply once dry. She also gave me a handful of samples of aczone to use since my insurance wouldn't cover it.

My brother had bad bacne - and I recommended he shampoo/conditioner before washing his body (he had long hair) and to use a nonscented soap. We think his skin was actually reacting to something in the soap he was using. (:

Agree with Megan A. on Panoxyl. It's the only thing that has worked for my FH.

Neutrogena Clear Body Body Wash. Use both as body wash and as a bubble bath starter.

Getting some sun would help too.

I have this problem, mix of birth control side effects and the fact that I have horrific skin. Wash your back last in the shower and dab some honey on those suckers. See a dermatologist if you can!

Honestly I just changed shampoo and conditioner, you may have already tried this but I cant use tresemme or pantene because I will break out on my back. Good Luck!!! My son's dermatologist said anything with Benzoyl Peroxide is supposed to be good
