Bacne! I'm wearing a backless dress

I have a long way to go...but I figured I'd get an early start on ideas. Does anyone have any trouble with acne on their back? My dress is backless and my mother discussed having me talk to a dermatologist prior to the wedding. I've had this issue for a long time.

I used to have it as well when I did track in high school. I was always active and my Dr said my skin was probably just in overdrive. She had me rub a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol or an astringent over my back and shoulders every night before bed. Cleared up in a few weeks and didn't break the bank

Time to visit a dermatologist. A good one will know the right treatment for your skin.

A combo of the pill, using Panoxyl, never rinsing shampoo and conditioner down my back, and tanning/getting some sun has helped almost completely dry mine up. I'm hoping these scars skedaddle within the next three months though!

Definitely go to the derm. I had the same issue, I've had it since I was a kid. She prescribed me Benzoyl Peroxide foaming cloths that are mailed to me for free from some pharmacy in Arizona. I've used them about 3 times so far and have had amazing results! Your derm will know what's best for you. Just explain the situation!

As others have said, see a dermatologist.

In the meantime, if you workout, buy some cleansing wipes and wipe down after your workout. I was getting chest and shoulder breakouts, so I made sure to wipe down after sweating, since I then had to sit in the car to get home before rinsing off. It worked wonders.

Also, if you're using scented bar soaps or washes, try using an unscented, undyed bar soap for a while. A lot of people react to those chemicals.

This problem has plagued me since I was a preteen. Every summer my family goes on vacation to Florida and the week I'm there my entire back will clear up. I finally decided to test a theory about why this is and it worked! I now soak every night in bathtub with water and about a cup of sea salt mixed in. After I get out of the shower I also make sort of a putty out of the salt and some water and rub it onto my back and leave it. Yes I end up with salt in my bed, but I have clear skin and to me that's worth it!
