What time is the ceremony and reception - how long will it last? How many guests?

Finger foods are fine if you're having a non-meal time wedding, like 2pm-5pm. If it will be around lunch or dinner time, you should serve a full meal.

If it’s starting around dinner time you’ll need to serve a full meal to your guest. If you want to do finger foods it will have to be enough to constitute a full meal which can end up being more expensive. BBQ/Italian/Mexican restaurants will be cheapest for catering.

If you are having a full reception then you really should provide a meal - we are getting married in the woods with 60 guests and we went with a food truck because it added a different kind of menu and is so easy - they come in, do their thing & then leave & it eliminated a lot of stress of doing an outside shindig. Even if you hire two people to man a grill & just do bbq food that would work - check out craigslist I found a great party helper company that does things like just grill or bartend whatever you would need

Have you decided what food you will serve at the wedding yet, Courtney?

I agree with bbq but you don’t have to do messy bbq. I cooked for a friends wedding (I’m a former caterer) whole salmon on grill Baked(grilled) potato bar (with tons of fixings) grill chicken, brisket, ribs, corn on cob, salad, slaw. It was still very elegant not messy food no bbq sauce dripping on your clothes and the crowd loved it.
