Bachelorette party ideas that don't revolve around alcohol?

Heather, on May 7, 2014 at 1:25 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 26

I don't really want to go to a club/bar and my two MOH's are breast feeding. My other 3 BM's will be down for whatever. Any ideas? I live in central PA.

Zoo? Museum? Amusment park? Tourist location that you have never been to? Aquarium?

I plan on doing any one of the above for my bachelorette party. I'm not a big drinker.

I wanted nothing to do with bar hopping for my bachelorette party - my BP and a few girlfriends are taking a weekend retreat. Staying a nice hotel on a lake and spending our time lounging in the sun out on a boat.

If you have a Pinot's Palette around that could be fun. You would have the option to drink but you wouldn't have to. FH and I went there to celebrate our 4 year dating anniversary back in February and we had a blast!

I'm not familiar with your area, but are there any cooking/art/crafts one day classes you can take? There is couple of places like that around here, you basically do an art class and in the end you walk out with a painting or coffee mug or something like that. They also have cooking experiences, wine tastings etc.

I like the Spa Day idea or theatre ideas too.

Go out for dinner, comedy club, see a movie, go to a sports event, mani/pedi, slumber party.

All the ladies above me have great ideas!

My pregnant bridesmaid said she will be more than happy to be the designated driver :]

We did a Wine and Design Party. So, the non-drinkers can enjoy painting, and the drinkers can REALLY enjoy the painting, haha.

A few ladies have already suggested it, but in my area they are called Sips and Strokes. It's a place you go in and they give you step by step instructions to do a painting and it's byob, so if you and your other BM wanted to drink you could! I will probably suggest something like this for my bachelorette party. All my friends are married with kids and feel like they have outgrown the club/bar scene.

I know one person who did a ceramics party, another who did a Cooking-DJ (DJ who plays music and teaches you how to cook a meal).

My girls and I are doing the Artful Bachelorette, which is a private painting class with a nude model. Figured a classy way to be a bit riske without doing something the other girls may not be comfortable with.

I would just suggest keeping the group you are planning for in mind. If it was just me, I'd do a strip club and drink-a-thon, but my girls are a little less out there so I found something everyone will enjoy. (And I Still get my wine ;-)
