August Wedding! 8/9

Teana, on May 5, 2020 at 9:26 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

We are still holding on to our date and hoping for the best. Has anyone else cancelled their August wedding? We have pretty much everything booked, down to the Honeymoon! I was going to wait until around June to make any changes. The venue which is a Hotel has said they believe we will be good buy then but we will keep praying. Our guest list is at 145. Any advice?

We are having a DW in Cancun August 8th and I am not planning on cancelling. The resort is opening back up in June and they actually just reached out to me to see if there’s any changes on my end. I know I might have less guests now but I’m okay with that. The only reason I’ll cancel is if they close the borders and I can’t travel outside of the states.

That sounds beautiful! Definitely makes me feel better that another August wedding is still on! I'm praying everything works out or both of us! Thanks for responding. We also booked our honeymoon right after to CR so we are hoping the same with them.

Mine is the beginning of September. We have no plans to cancel or postpone. I am super excited still! Ours is at a hotel and aren't sure when the ballroom will open but once they can start having 50 ppl they are going to start having small weddings again. Hopefully by mid summer they can have larger ones. We are at 150 guests right now.

No plans to postpone our August wedding! We're in Texas and hopeful that things will go as planned, but we only had 50 people anyway. I would say be prepared to cut your guest list, but you should be alright with precautions. Just keep checking with your venue and see what everyone thinks. It might not be how you originally pictured - everyone might be in masks for example. But that's just a reality of our times at the moment.

    August 8th here.
80% sure we will be postponing our wedding. I don't foresee gatherings being allowed that soon. Very heartbreaking but I am bracing for it. We will decide 1 month from now. Guestlist is 285.

Our original date was 4/25/20 and we postponed to 8/9/20! I’m also hoping we can have it as I don’t think I can handle postponing again. I am hoping for August too but have my doubts Smiley sad

    Hi Teana,

I'm loving all of the feedback above! While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of August couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B!
