Are you wearing/did you wear a necklace?

My mother is trying to convince me that most brides don't wear necklaces anymore. Earrings and bracelets are more "in style" for brides. Anybody decided one way or the other? Opinions? Pictures would be appreciated! My dress already has a lot going on. I will be wearing my hair up with two hair...

My dress already has a lot going on. I will be wearing my hair up with two hair combs in the back and some fancy drop earrings. Still on the search for a bracelet to match.

I wore a set with a bracelet, necklace and earrings. It was a darker, royal purple (closer to my avatar picture) rather than the light purple pictured.

My something old is a family cameo on a ribbon for the ceremony. But for the reception I'm wearing a really cool twisted pearl necklace.

I wore a simple diamond necklace that my aunt let we use for the wedding. She also lent me her matching diamond earrings and bracelet.

Sorry for the major cleavage shot. My MOH's daughter came to the head table to hang out for a bit. MOH is the one to the left.

Yes I am wearing a matching set, a necklace, earrings and a bracelet, my dress has some beading but not a lot, I'm wearing a tiara in my hair and my hair is an updo and I'm gonna have what is called hair twisters, their little crystal flowers on wire, I just want some bling!

Thanks for all of the pictures and advice!! You ladies have great taste in jewelry! I think I may play around with my jewelry to see what looks best. I'm definitely inspired now to find something "old" for my bracelet or necklace.

Thanks for the dress compliments. I love the champagne color and it goes very nice with my fair complexion.

Im most certainly wearing a necklace and earrings. Its all on what you want. I cant go without my jewlery espcially on my wedding day, but again that's just me. I love those drop earrings with that dress. I think that is beautiful and you should wear them especially if you are wearing your hair up.

Soon2BeMrs.Cullen, I had my thyroid removed as well! I actually have learned to embrace my scar.. but anything near my neck drives me crazy so most necklaces are no go... I'm wearing a bracelet and some simple tanzanite earings my FH gave me when we first started dating.

I wore my grandmother's opera length pearls tied as a choker (worked in my something old and blue (the ribbon) in one deal) mostly to hide a scar I had from a tracheotomy. It's really up to you, though-- I've seen brides with and without.

I'm planning on wearing a necklace as my ears aren't pierced so I can't wear earrings and I hardly ever wear jewelry so I figured I want to do something different for my wedding day. Haven't been able to find a necklace that I like though.

My rule of thumb is if your earrings make a statement (yours definitely do - they are absolutely stunning!!) then a necklace is overkill. And if your necklace makes a statement, then wear studs. I think you should go no necklace.

I just wore a bracelet and earings. I had ruffle detail on my dress with rhinestones. So, a necklace would have been too much. http://happinessiscreating.com/my-wedding/ I wouldn't say there are any trends as far bridal jewelry goes. I say go with whatever you like. Smiley smile

Well I'm personally not wearing one because if the neckline of my dress and I think it would be too much since I'm using a haircomb, earrings, bracelet and my sash.

I love my jewelry, and plan on wearing a necklace, earrings and bracelet. My bracelet imy something old.....I'm taking one of my mom's 16" strand of pearls and wrapping it around my wrist as a double strand bracelet!

I don't think I'm going to, but with just under 10 months to go, that could change. My dress isn't a typical wedding dress though and there's alot going on with it near the neckline.

TaraG - I LOVE LOVE LOVE your second necklace! It works perfectly on you and compliments your dress very well.

I was not planning on wearing a necklace because my gown has halter straps, so I thought a necklace might compete with that. But then I saw this one and am wishing now that I had a strapless gown. Because I just had surgery to fix a split earlobe, it is unlikely that I will be able to wear anything but piercing studs (or clip-ons) come the wedding day - I think they are overkill in this set, anyway. I found it on ebay, for any other ladies who are working with a peacock theme.
