Are you staying in your wedding dress the entire day?

So my dress is 3kg and I'm going to be wearing it all day from 12pm till 11pm. I was thinking I should change since it's so heavy and big, but my mother said it's the only day I will be wearing a wedding dress and I should stay in it till the end. Since my dress is ball gown I thought maybe I can get a white mermaid dress for reception?

Are you guys going to change your dress ? If so what kind of dress are you going to wear?

I would love to see them Smiley smile

I love my dress so much that I want to wear it all day, every day!! But my mom is ADAMANT about me having a second dress to change into. She keeps pressuring me to purchase a second dress. She paid for the dress I have now, and she doesn't care--still wants me to have 2 dresses. I really don't like the idea of changing, but I also want to please my mom. I'm still trying to decide what to do.

Definitely wearing mine all day. My mom asked if I was changing, but I paid way too much for that one dress and I love it to not wear it all day

@Honeybee-you can let her buy the second dress and then just not have time to change

I wore mine for 12 hours and could have easily wore it for the next 12. There was no way I was going to take it off. I figured that I spent $112.50/hour to wear that sucker, I was getting my money's worth on it.

I'm staying i my dress all day! I struggled paying so much for my dress for one day, doesn't make sense to not wear it the whole time!

We're going sailing after the reception, so I'm hoping to get a casual dress off Modcloth or a cute white lace romper or something for that. My dress is raw silk and I'm planning to donate it to Brides Across America, so I really can't let it get water stained or anything.

I'm staying in my dress all day. If it fits in your budget to buy 2 dresses, then why not

I wore mine the entire time. Got dressed at 2 and then changed out of it after reception at 9:30. It wasn't too heavy though. I would try to stay in it as long as you can.

I'm staying in mine. Also, my dress is a mermaid style and still super heavy so it depends on the one you get. Not all of them are lighter, so keep that in mind.

I put mine on at 12pm and didn't take it off until 12am! Funny story, DH and I watched The Walking Dead when we got home - he still had his whole suit on and me in my dress. First zombies, then sexy time LOL

I'm still obsessed with my dress and had no intention of changing out of it before the end of the reception, but holy ballgown did I need to change! It was huge, and hot, and heavy, and I was sick of being the sweatiest person at the wedding and having such a wide berth Smiley smile I had already bought a short after-party dress for less than $150, so I changed into that!! I would definitely recommend having a cheap backup available Smiley smile
