Are you staying in your wedding dress the entire day?

So my dress is 3kg and I'm going to be wearing it all day from 12pm till 11pm. I was thinking I should change since it's so heavy and big, but my mother said it's the only day I will be wearing a wedding dress and I should stay in it till the end. Since my dress is ball gown I thought maybe I can...

Since my dress is ball gown I thought maybe I can get a white mermaid dress for reception?

Are you guys going to change your dress ? If so what kind of dress are you going to wear?

I would love to see them Smiley smile

I bought another dress to change into. Not because my dress is heavy. Just because I want something I don't have to worry about ruining for the later part of the night. Plus it's more sassy! This is dress #2. I bought it in ivory. I agree it's a long time to be in a dress. We start taking pictures at 2 and the wedding ends at 11pm.

I was so happy when mine was over- I was in no way interested in partying all day.

Erin- that's the same dress as your actual dress- still unsure why you're changing

I'm staying in mine.. Makes no sense to spend quite a $- $$$ for one dress, just to change out and wear a different one. Specially since ceremony will probably be 10-15 mins.

I will be wearing it all night! At first I was thinking of buying a reception dress but, realized that I didn't spend all that money to not wear that dress all night! My dress is heavy, and my train is long but, I will be bustling it to make it work!

I'm going to be wearing mine all day. I'm just too cheap to get another dress and I bought my dress wanting to wear it all day. Definitely nothing wrong with getting another dress, just my opinion lol

Wearing mine all day! I want to enjoy that beauty every moment that I can. I just plan to change into flat shoes for the reception. My hem might get a little dirty but I don't care.

I'm not changing. I've threatened to not take it off for like a week. It's beautiful and comfortable (ball gown) and I love it.

@Susana- I bought mine in ivory. It's very white in person. It's from JJ's house and was $150. It does have a small train which I am having removed.

Well I was thinking about getting a second dress as well. My church ceremony starts 1:00pm so obviously I would be in my dress before then. Reception is over at 11:45pm, Mexican weddings tend to be long too. If I do decide to get a second dress it would be much simpler. I would probably change around 8pm after my FH and I have had our first dance and all that good stuff. I would want something like this but Im still debating, it all depends when my actual wedding dress gets here.

@JoRocka- it's not the same dress. My dress is Maggie Soterro Chesney. Lace, strapless with a train. I want to sell it after the wedding and would like to keep it nice. Plus why not?? I love both my dresses and am excited to wear them both.

Before I picked a dress I was certain I'd be changing into a second dress to dance in. I'm a clutz, plus I'm not used to wearing long gowns for a long time and thought I'd be uncomfortable. After picking a dress? FH will have to pry it off me lol.

I'll be wearing mine all day. Hell, if I could I would wear it for a week straight after the wedding.

I'm changing into a second dress (Indian outfit) for the reception mainly because it's what we do in our culture. It's just as heavy but definitely not poofy like my ceremony dress.
