Are you hiring someone for the ceremony music?

Desiree, on March 3, 2016 at 11:58 AM Posted in Planning 0 35

I totally have forgotten that something needs to be played during the ceremony. I was going to have a cousin sing as I walk down the aisle, but, idk if he will be able to attend. Of course, I'm waiting for Sam Smith to say yes he will sing. Are you hiring someone? Or playing off and ipod or something?

We have our dj also doing the ceremony. It was easier than trying to use an ipod. Also not that much more expensive. But we are having our ceremony and reception in the same place, so that works. It wouldn't work if they are at different places.

My FH and I have created a playlist on my iPod. My son will be in charge of making sure it's working properly. Congrats!

We will just be using our dj , which would be an extra $100/hour but all the guitar and other soloists we've looked into charged about $350 per hour. So not thanks!

We're getting married in a church and will be using some of the church musicians, as well as hiring some other ones.

If you have hired a DJ, he/she can co-ordinate the ceremony music for you.

We hired a mariachi band for the ceremony. It was AWESOME!

My uncle is a professional piano player, and also happened to be the #1 choice by the church to use. He thankfully offered to do it for us. I am looking forward to working with him on music choices.

We have a pianist who will be playing the music for our ceremony. The only song she won't be playing is the recessional, because we chose a recorded song.

FW brother plays the guitar and has had training and really wanted to play us down and then back up the aisle as our gift. But we're giving him a gift card because even though he said he won't accept money we're not giving him an option haha

A DJ that's a friend of the family. I wish the actual stars could sing my entrance song.

Our ceremony and reception are in different locations and ceremony is outside. I have access to a good sound system through a group I'm in, so we're going to use that for the ceremony. That way the DJ doesn't have to set up and tear down twice. We'll use music off a laptop for processional and recessional, and another couple we're friends with will do an acoustic version of one of our favorite songs during the unity tree planting.

A friend of mine is a musician and we're hiring her to play piano for the ceremony and man the iPod during the reception (at least for the important "dances" then it can go on shuffle)

Our officiant handled the ceremony music for us, we just had to tell him the songs we wanted.

ETA: he had pro sound equipment and an assistant to run the music.

We hired a harpist (my old harp teacher and her daughter actually). And they of course did an amazing job! They also played during cocktail hour.

My dj is going to do the whole day.

Eta: I'm choosing the music for the ceremony and first dances but then dj can choose after that.
