Are you going to or did you wear a watch?

Jemma, on December 19, 2013 at 11:26 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

I feel very naked and vulnerable without a watch, but am not sure it goes so well with the wedding dress look, even my nice watch.

Will I need to know what time it is, to know if everything's on track, or will it just stress me out, especially if things are running behind.

Watch or no watch, what do you think?

If it doesn't match or has no significant sentimental value to you, I wouldn't.

I personally will not be wearing a watch... I would suggest wearing a very small bracelet-like watch if you would like to wear one. I would suggest staying away from the 'oversized watches' that are in style right now

Jemma, I am feeling the same way. I have a very pretty watch that I can wear but I think it will look funny so I'm thinking maybe I'll just use my phone. I am stressed out without a watch. Totally.

    I'm not.

Other people can worry about timings on the day.

Why not wear a bracelet on that wrist to replace it or a thin, bracelet style one (maybe a sentimental one) if you feel it must be an actual watch

From what I've heard it's never acceptable to wear a visible watch with formal clothing--men have sleeves that hide theirs, but in a dress it's out in the open. Unless it's something that means a ton to you, I say skip it. If your wrist feels naked, throw on a bracelet!

Time's going to fly no matter what so I see no point in checking the time. If you need to know the time, ask your MOH to keep her phone in a clutch and she can check it for you.

This is the watch I have that I wear for "smart" occasions, and it is lovely. On the other hand I have a swarovski tennis bracelet I could wear on that wrist instead. It's true that I could let other people worry about timings I suppose - I'm just such a control freak!

I'd go with the tennis bracelet. It will look much better and fit the setting better than that watch, IMO.

I feel soo naked without my watch but I don't like the way it looks in pictures so I will be skipping out on it that day.

I'm not wearing one. I never do anyway. Maybe you can wear a pretty bracelet instead so you don't feel naked.

I'm wearing a watch! It's my grandmother's and it's super tiny and delicate.

Personally I wouldn't wear a watch - unless its super tiny, more like a bracelet

I know what you mean about feeling naked w/out your watch on. I am a time oriented person as well and need to know what time it is!

That said, I skipped a watch on my wedding day. It didn't look nice with the gown. Everyone else had their phones on them so I was never in doubt as to the time.

My something borrowed was a diamond tennis bracelet so it made me feel less 'watch naked'.

I wear a watch every day and feel weird when I forget it...but I won't be wearing it on my wedding day.

No, but I don't normally wear one. I haven't worn a watch in years.
