Are you doing or ditching the something old, new, borrowed, or blue tradition?

Will you be adding something old, blue, borrowed, or new to your wedding day attire? If so, how? Are you saying “I do” to this tradition or ditching it? I wanted to ditch it, but my mother insisted, well actually did it and didnt give me a chance to say no. It has taken some time to stand up to her. And finally say no to a lot. So, me taking charge of every other aspect if my wedding and telling her no, to her ideal wedding was an accomplishment. If she wants me to have this tradition, I will let her.

I'm planning to do it, but only because it mostly came together accidentally. My ring has an old family stone in it, my dress is new, my jewelry is blue (because it's one of the wedding colors), so all I have left is borrowed. Not sure how I'll manage that one, but I'd like to try since the other elements are already conveniently there.

Sticking to it. I think it’s nice to see what items your designated wedding party and family come up with to fit each part of the tradition.

I agree!!! I always like seeing the 'something blue', it's the perfect pop of color!

That's great!!! Maybe you can borrow a piece of jewelry that you don't have or something to go in your hair!

I’m definitely ditching this tradition. I always saw it as one of those cool things to do so brides will spend more money.

For me, if it happens that way, great. If not, I'm not going to worry about it. Not sure what I could borrow or where I could fit in blue without it looking strange. I have new and old, though! Haha

I am doing it. It's a nice tradition to start. And my sister totally loves the idea. She is the Maid of Honor so her and my mom will help out. Totally loving these shoes!

I do! Still trying to find something blue that I will wear though because I absolutely hate blue! Lol I am tatting my own lace garter right now actually so maybe I will use a shade of blue for the elastic band. (It wont be that noticeable underneath the handmade lace! Haha)

I'm planning to ask my 4 "sisters" to get them for me.

My FH's sister in law is the oldest of the 4, and the one that has the longest marriage. I'll ask her to get the something old.

My oldest sister has the habit to borrow things and taking forever to return them, so I will ask her for the something borrowed.

My other sister, who is also older than me loves the colors baby blue and turquoise so I will ask her for the something blue.

Then, my brother's girlfriend, (they live together) who is the newest addition to the family, I will ask her for the something new.

I like this tradition but idk what to use for my old and blue items. We’re not doing a garter toss so a blue garter wouldn’t make sense. I already have my shoes picked out and they are not blue. I have an old handkerchief from my aunt who passed a few years ago that might be a nice item to have for my something old. Thought about sneaking one blue flower into my bouquet, even those aren’t our wedding colors.

Someone else mentioned a blue garter since it won't be seen! Good idea!
