Anyone planning a potential Phase 2 wedding?

Has anyone started planing as if they might be in a phase 2 reopening. 50 or less people, moderate social distancing. Tell me about it!

My planner has asked us to plan as if we are in phase 2 for my July wedding. Our governor said we’ll be possibly in Phase 1 May 8th.
Out of 50 people, 10- 15 people would be wedding staff. Leaving 35 to 40 for our our guests and us. It would be just close family, bridesmaids/groomsmen, and some extended family and close friends. I have no idea how the venue would handle it with the “moderate social distancing”. I emailed them but honestly don’t know if they can even answer that. They might not want to give an answer for while since we still have 2 1/2 months to go.

Hello! My fiancé & I made the decision yesterday to start planning as if we will be in Phase 2. Our wedding is July 11th, and we were scheduled to get married at our church with 150-200 guests. However, with everything going on, we have decided to change our plans significantly. We will now be getting married at his father's house, and we will only be inviting the wedding party, immediate family, and photographer/videographer. We both have large families, so that together is right under 50 people. I am actually more excited about this version now because it is less stress than having the larger wedding, and I think the environment will be more relaxed. We haven't worked out all the details about how to maintain "moderate social distancing" yet either, but we are hoping to soon! I hope all goes well with your wedding & that it is everything you've dreamed of!

    Hi Aurora,

It's so hard to say how things will look come July. It also really depends per state! I'm so sorry you are going through this.

There are many resources on our website that may be helpful as you navigate the planning process. This is a great place to start: Our COVID-19 Weddings Advice Guide. You'll find articles like this one: What to Do About Your Wedding During the Coronavirus Pandemic.

And here's another discussion specifically about July 2020 Weddings! OsQM71bUJ0Qu4ly8UKJOrw-4MNRCjpvLo-YljRdj

It sounds like you have already connected with your venue which was going to be my first tip - great job! Things are changing daily, so keeping the lines of communication open is important. That way, you can make decisions in a timely fashion. I would continue to plan as normal, but also embrace how great a plan b can be during this time!

    Good luck! akxoU0fWxdmfE9sHUjjkYB-ICl1lHJDh_sCPQOky
