Anyone not wearing traditional wedding shoes?

MrsPope, on August 15, 2014 at 12:43 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 55

I am not a heel person. I absolutely can't stand wearing them. They make my feet hurt so bad, so to avoid buying shoes to wear for an hour I decided to go with these (pic below). Anyone else going non traditional

I'm so over sneakers at weddings, but it's your wedding; do what you love.

I'm wearing silver and white flat sandals...probably more usual for a beach wedding, but they are classy and pretty and my dress is none too long, so the flatter the better.

@Candyce I agree. I really want to be comfortable. My dress completely covers my feet so no reason to buy heels that won't show anyway.

Hidden wedge heel, might even dye them, who knows.

we tell people all the time, dont worry about shoes, nobody sees them so wear what make you happy that you can wear all night.

my entire wedding is simple and casual, so it fits. i wear a black version of these almost daily.

I'm not sure what I'm wearing yet, but they won't be your typical wedding shoe. I was considering getting some sneakers and bedazzling them like you did, because I want to be comfy. those are cute, by the way!

@MissLulu Thank you. I think you should go for it if you really want to!

@Candyce Thanks! I'm also flat footed so heels get pretty painful after about 20 mins, not to mention I have to walk down stairs to the alter lol

I have a pair of heals in my closet i love, so i think i will be wearing those instead of worrying about breaking in new shoes. They are copperish gold bedazzled adrienne vittadini. They are some of the most comfortable heals ive owned

Only reason and I mean the ONLY reason why I am wearing heals is because my FH is a foot taller than me normally. I have to have something to even be able to kiss him LOL! I did buy some white bobs for the reception though.

I'm wearing floral Toms that match the colors of the bridesmaids' dresses. I'm so stoked about it, even though I have gotten some negativity from others. Blow it off, do what you want, it's your day! And it'll all be worth it when on your first full day as a married woman, it doesn't hurt to walk.
