Any September brides in Wny?!

Mrs. S, on May 18, 2020 at 6:36 AM Posted in New York Planning 0 5
Hello! Wondering if anyone else is hanging in for September?? We are the 12th, just under 90 people on the list (guessing less will rsvp) but we our stay at home order was extended to June 13. I was going to wait until mid July to decide on sending invitations out but I’m wondering how anyone else is handing it so far?! Thanks in advance!!

I think waiting for July to make decisions is your best bet. Apparently the NYC region has hit 4 of the 7 metrics to move forward to phase 1? But that's not all 7, and it could take a bit.

We've just been hit so hard, and it's so hard to tell what September is going to look like.

Would it be possible for you to cut your guest list or is your venue big enough to spread everyone out?

At this point, the best advice seems to be: Have a Plan B, be flexible, and don't make any decisions until you *have* to.

    Good luck!

Thank you!❤️ We are actually just hitting phase 1 today, we got the news yesterday so that’s exciting and a step in the right direction! We can definitely make cuts, I’ve talked for eh venue once and they said they didn’t know enough information at the time to cancel or proceed for sept so I know it’s a waiting game. I figured by July I would have the information to make a solid decision! Praying for the best!

    Hi Kayla,

The general consensus for fall weddings (Sept-Nov) is that you should proceed with planning. However, you may want to consider your back-up plan sooner than later. For example, if the total guest count had to be <50, what would you do? That's a good place to start.

Also, here's a couple of discussions with other NY couples:

East Coast Brides with Late Aug/september weddings - anyone postponing yet? Planners, any advice?

    September brides- Ny!!

Plus, these two discussions are also specific to September weddings:

Any september brides canceling their wedding?

How are my September brides feeling?

I'm hoping everything will be closer to normal by then! Sending positive vibes... Smiley heart

We are September 12th as well in Central NY. We have a back up date with all of our vendors for June of 2021. We are making our decision on July 1st whether to postpone or not. So heartbreaking to have to make a decision like that but ultimately we want our guests to be able to be comfortable anand not scared to go near one another with fear of germs. I can't imagine my wedding without my grandma there and she's 85 so that plays a big factor into everything as well.
