Im trying to figure out what to do with my hair. I cut my hair into like the old Rihanna and now im natural. I do not wear my hair out due to the texture and length right now. Ive had a sow-ins for the past year, due to all the money I was spending and lack or care my hair was getting Ive switched over to lace front wigs. (I know what your thinking)

So the lace front which I actually pull my edges out of, always looks ten times better than the weaves I pay 250 for! They last longer and I get TONS of compliments. This week only I have gotten about 15 compliments just from guys (who think it mine). The ladies have commented as well thinking its a sowin and cant tell its a wig even standing right next to me. They fall better, look better and dont bunch at the neck.

I know it seems ive answered my own question but I guess im still apprehensive. I wanted to know if any of you HAVE or THINKING to do a wig as well. Wants your views on a wig vs weave

Thanks in Advance Divas!

I've worn a custom full lace wig before. It's VERY high maintenance. I prefer the ease of a sew-in. Which I will be wearing for my wedding as well. I like the sew in using a patented method my stylist uses that allowes for parting thoughout with being detected. Unlike most traditional full sew-ins you usually commit to a "style" ie. side part or center part with little flexibility. The way mine is but in I can part my hair all over and expose my scalp with out weave detection. THATS why she charges the big bucks. (I've been going to her for years so she hasn't raised her prices on me)

Good luck with you search for the perfect wig/weave or what have you.

CW: Sorry, I think you misread the last sentence in my post. The statement was meant as a general comment to the group at large. Not directed to you personally. This is wh I hate these little comments boxes at times. Makes it hard to really get your point across.

You should also be aware of where hair comes from. Not all Indian hair is donated by women who have reached enlightenment and went to the temple on their own. There are articles out there about hair collectors that go to poor villages in India and collect women's hair in exchange for basically nothing.

I wear sew in's all the time. The most I have spent on weave was 160 for 2pks of Saga 14inches. 150 to apply hair. To me that is alot of mucho dinero but I keep it in for 3.5 months. I almost certain I will purchase a custom front lace.

@Miss Tattoo, exactly. As I said, there are places you can go to get it done for less and they do an excellent job. I pay $100 to get box braids in my hair right now, and the hair I buy is excellent quality for less than $100/pack. I don't pay an arm and a leg, and if I had to pay $1500, you bet your @ss I'd be sitting here with natural hair and nothing in it. I can't afford that. If you have the means, more power to you.

Even if I had the money to spend, I'm not sure I would. You better do a damn good job for $1500, come maintain it when it needs it, wash and style it for me, and take it out when it's time too.

@ Chelle I think you look great with your short cut and with your sew in! Is there a pic with you in the lace front?

I'm not sure about wigs verses a sew in...since I've never worn either....but I do wear braids Smiley smile I say...go for whatever makes you feel the most fabulous! Smiley smile

@ Rachel S. I love my braids too!! My hair is natural and it makes it so much easier for me....I am addicted to them.... I'm going to check out the site for his and her.....what type of hair do you get?
