Affordable Ceremony Venues in South Florida

Mary, on February 8, 2012 at 1:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hi!

My fiancee and I are looking for an affordable ceremony venue only (we've already booked our reception venue) in the South Florida area. It's been difficult finding a venue ONLY for the ceremony. We had our hearts set on Fern Forest but unfortunately our date wasn't available (November 3, 2012). We are on a very tight budget, so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

Are you trying to stay in Fort Lauderdale? How many guests do you think you'll have? Do you want an indoor or outdoor ceremony? How much are you able to spend?

I saw that Fern Forest is in Broward, so I'm going to assume that you want to stay in that area. Have you checked out the Bonnet House? I went to a wedding there recently, and it was beautiful. Or, how do you feel about a beach wedding?

Oh, details, right. Sorry! Smiley smile

We live in Coral Springs, FL. We both have very big families - our guest list is at 180 - however, most of these guests are from out of town so it is more than likely we will have around 100. We prefer to stay in Broward County - our reception is at Heron Bay in Parkland, FL so ideally it would be nice to stay around the general area, but I know this may not be possible.

The Bonnet House looks beautiful, but it looks like a package deal (ceremony + reception). I guess it wouldn't hurt to call, but it looks out of our range. We really don't want to spend over $500 for the ceremony venue (we'll only be there for what, 30-45 min?). Fern Forest was only $150, darn!

Oh, and we haven't out-ruled a beach wedding, but we were looking more towards a garden/woodsy theme. Obviously we may have to change that if necessary Smiley smile

What about a different park? There is a BEAUTIFUL park in Coral Springs next to the aquatic center. Orchid park or something. They have a small playground and wooden walkway in the very back that could probably be used for a wedding. You couldn't have seating but maybe have them all standing along the walkway. Its worth checking out.

Have you tried Miami Beach Botanical Gardens? Thats the closest venue to broward that I think will be still affordable...Many other ones, but you'll have to stay in the Miami area.

I'm looking for a cheap venue as well..both ceremony and reception or even just reception. We are trying to stay under $3000. And we have between 70-100 people. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.
