advice...my fiance wants to wear his wedding band now.

aslominski, on November 9, 2009 at 10:51 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

Is it weird? He wants to wear his wedding band now. Should I be flattered? I mean we have been together for 8 years and he already introduces me as his wife (he has for years, it avoids the questions about us being married/are both kids his..those kind of things!). Our wedding is already pretty untraditional.

Thanks Ladies...I just got his band in yesterday and I think he was so excited...he is very flashy...and me not so much, so I took the plain one in that he piced out (I am sure b/c of the price) and traded it in for some ROCKS! He loves it, and I love him...so I guess its all good Smiley smile

My husband wore his 1 week before the wedding which I thought was kinda cute. We'd been together for over 7 years and I think he was just excited. I'd say have at it! =)

I bought my fiance his own "engagement ring". He really wanted something to show that he was taken and we haven't bought wedding bands. So I let him pick out a ring and I bought it... I even did just a goofy little proposal after I picked it up and brought it home.

I'm happy he wears it and wants to show he's taken. =]

The only thing I wouldn't like is that there is nothing special once you're married, about the ring. If it were me, I'd get him a cheap ring to wear for now. Then he'll get his awesome wedding band at the wedding. So there is one more thing to be excited about.

After I'd purchased FH wedding band and showed it to him he was giddy like a little kid! He didn't want to take it off either! But I still needed to get it engraved so he did eventually take it off.

I don't really see a problem with him wearing it if he really wants to, unless like the Potters suggested it would seem less special the day of.

In the middle east, engaged couples wear their wedding bands on their right ringfingers. That way both parties show that they are taken. At the wedding ceremony they touch fingertips and slide the ring from the right finger to the left. Voila, they are married!

So if you want to wait until the wedding to show that you're married, that could be an option.

I got my FH a sterling silver engagement ring and am saving the gold band for our wedding day.

Smiley laugh FH is also miffed, that he can't show he's taken, so when the wedding bands come in, he'll get to wear his on the right hand.

I'm in the same boat with Snooks. My FH wanted an "engagement" ring of his own to show off that he is taken. I just went to Walmart and bought him a ring that he liked that was really cheap to wear until the wedding then he will get to switch to his real wedding band.

Its even sweeter because we won't be able to see each other this Christmas Smiley sad but I know he is gonna be as happy as I was when I got my engagement ring Smiley winking and that makes my heart smile!
