A Jr. bride is...

Spirit, on August 22, 2016 at 5:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 64

Did a Google thing.

"I hate to disagree with the other posters but really when I have seen Junior Brides they are the daughter of the bride or groom that they don't want to be a flower girl and want more directly incorporated into the ceremony. The parent and stepparent marry and then they have a little joining ceremony to unite the family with the Junior Bride--she gets her own little ring or necklace if they want to make sure she can keep it more than a few years. They are in mini wedding dresses and go from there. I have also seen Junior Bridesmaids be called Junior Brides but that wasn't very common."

You're welcome!

"Jr Bride" just makes me think too much of "child bride". No thanks.

Um thats super creepy. I have seen ceremony where a stepdad gives his stepdaughter a necklace during the ceremony and vows to be the best dad he can be but Jr Bride is a little much.

I'm having a Jr bridesmaid which is my niece who will be 12 but none of that creepy shit is happening

It reminds me of those poor young "brides" in the Warren Jeffs cult. Twelve or so, married off to an older cult member.

No when I hear Jr. Bride I think a bride that is too young i.e child bride. This is weird. If their too old to be flower girls just let them be jr bridesmaids.

Creeps me out too. I don't get why some feel so compelled to give so many titles for pointless things. It's ok to just have guests!!!!

My oldest and his oldest daughter are our Jr. Bridesmaids, we plan to incorporate them into our ceremony, and Our daughter together will be our flower girl because she's the youngest. They won't be wearing brides dresses but they will be wearing the same dress our BMs are wearing with a halter strap to make it age appropriate for them along with flats instead of heels *the other sounds weird

I unfortunately get a LOT of JR Brides with the Brides at the salon... It makes me feel kind of weirded out, but I have to style them...

I don't think she meant "jr bride", i'm SURE she meant jr bridesmaids which is very normal to have. Stop reaching smh

@QueenDavis she listed both Jr bridesmaid and Jr bride. So it is not "reaching".

And she explained EXACTLY what she meant and it was none of what she googled. so yes that's REACHING.
