"I hate to disagree with the other posters but really when I have seen Junior Brides they are the daughter of the bride or groom that they don't want to be a flower girl and want more directly incorporated into the ceremony. The parent and stepparent marry and then they have a little joining ceremony to unite the family with the Junior Bride--she gets her own little ring or necklace if they want to make sure she can keep it more than a few years. They are in mini wedding dresses and go from there. I have also seen Junior Bridesmaids be called Junior Brides but that wasn't very common."

You're welcome!

I am not having one but the few weddings I've been to at least 1 had a mini bride. I didn't think much of it to be honest because a lot of people have them in their weddings.

I completely forgot this was a thing until this post.

I just always thought a Jr. Bridesmaid was older than a flower girl lol nothing like what you described. Odd.

@Gymrat, if someone is using the term African American it most likely refers to someone who has more family linage in America. If someone has more recent family lines to Africa (i.e., first or second generation), they generally refer to themselves as [African Country]-American, such as Nigerian-American.

Apparently, I missed the original thread. My Daughter will be close to 4 yrs old when we have our wedding. She will be my junior bridesmaid. She will not be wearing a Wedding dress!! I don't want her to fantasize about her "dream wedding" all her life!! I don't want her to ever think she is a princess and needs a man to come save her!! She is a Queen-In-Training!!!! She will be wearing a bridesmaids dress, but I do want hers to be a little more fancy than my MOH or BM's dresses. She will be walking down the aisle with our 12 yr old Son, who will be a groomsman. Her father, my FH will not be giving her a ring, or a necklace or anything creepy like that!
